We went to Jianna for Greenville Restaurant Week. Due to the popularity of Jianna, we were not able to get reservations on a Friday evening, but we were able to sit at the bar on the side overlooking the street and be served. The restaurant is situated on the second floor and overlooks activity of the Main Street and Falls Park area, so it may take paying attention to find it. The dining area and bar are very inviting. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable of the food and drinks / wine, and considerable added to the dining experience. There is a very good wine list with varietal and pricing options that should suit any wine drinker coming to a fine dining venue - this included varitals and regions not usually found on other wine lists. The menu is not standard American-Italian fare, but creative and varied. In addition to the Restaurant Week Menu, we had a carpaccio appetizer, that while a bit small, was very good and we would order again. There are a number of other appetizers listed we would return to try. For Restaurant Week, we found the Risotto Cacio e Pepe to be outstanding, and we hope they will add it to the regular menu - risotto is either very good or very bad, and this risotto was outstanding. The Rigatoni Bolognese, found on the current menu, was flavorful and went very well with our wine. The Tonarelli Carbonara, not found on the regular, menu was also a very flavorful and pleasurable dish that we hope might be added to the regular menu. The very good desserts completed the dinner with a chocolate tart that had qualities of flourless chocolate cake, and lemon panna cotta. This dinner was our first at Jianna, and we will definitely return.
