“Peaceful”
Reviewed July 21, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had a very warm welcome from the owners, which was much appreciated after our long journey. The apartment was spotlessly clean and bright. We also enjoyed being able to eat outside in the lovely courtyard. A big thank you to the owner for booking us transportation to the airport, too! There was lots to do in the immediate vicinity (many travel pamphlets provided in the apartment).

“Beautiful surroudings, amazing location and lovely owners”
Reviewed July 16, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We had our holiday to Lanzarote cancelled at the last minute and thankfully found this beautiful place to stay which was a million times beter than the commerical hotel we had managed to book first. Despite the short notice stay- the owners were incredibly helpful and prompt, helping us make payments and having contact details well in advance.

When we arrived (reasonably easy to find- even without sat nav) the appartment was spacious, clean and tidy and the owners had even left us a bottle of wine. The kitchen facilities are great (the only thing missing is an oven which would be great for warming bread or croissants through) but basic supplies were there as well as plenty of fridge space. The local bakery is a 1 minute walk from the front door and everything (as expected) was beautiful. Dont buy anything from the supermarket that you can get from that bakery! (There is a huge Carrefour complex roughly 5 minutes drive away so plenty of amenities there and more locally too). The local shops and restaurants are all great and we were given some recommendations of where to try, including a fantastic restaurant in the next villiage of Champagne-Sur-Oise called Les Epis D'Or which we would highly recommend for some fine dining. My french is reasonable but not equipped for a restaurant like this so although not easy to order, the food was delicious.

The area is brilliant and there was so much we could have done but we utilised the location to go to Disneyland (about an hour away but not the easiest of journeys- lots of road changes), Versailles (45 minutes) and Monet Gardens (30 minutes). We also went to central Paris by train which has a direct route, taking about 40 minutes and the train station is located 2 minutes from the appartment.

Les Arcades is a beautiful house and it was really special to stay there. We were given access to the spacious and pretty front gardens (sadly the weather wasnt fantastic but who cares) and the property is secure behind locked gates.

We would thoroughly recommend staying there.

“Parfait au Parmain”
Reviewed May 30, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

What a fabulous trip.
We opted for a trip to this chateau as it seemed to tick all our boxes. We wanted easy access to Central Paris coupled with a feeling of 'real' France.
Parmain is beautiful with fabulous restaurants and bars that are of a higher quality and lower price of the tourist traps of Paris it has a fabulous market and enough leisure facilities to mean you never have to leave (including it's own beach!!)
The riverside is stunning and it's great to just wander around and relax enjoying the sights sounds and smells of 'rural' France.
We took the train from CDG to the apartment which was very straight forward changing once at Gare du Nord and cost us less than 30€ for the two of us, the station at Parmain is an easy walk from the house and we managed it with our suitcases within 2 or 3 minutes.

Now to the good bit!
We were met by the hosts, And quickly shown around the apartment and facilities we had everything we could need including a welcoming bottle of wine!! Thanks Wolfgang!!!
Everything was clean and immaculate, the hosts were obliging with any queries we had and always eager to offer tips and advice about the local area. Whilst the weather wasn't great we did manage to spend an afternoon in our own private garden area which is lovely and peaceful.

All in all a great trip for us and we shall definitely revisit.
Top tip:
You simply have to visit the market, great produce and some real bargains.

“Fairytale Château with Wonderful Hosts”
Reviewed February 13, 2014 for a stay in November 2013

We had originally booked to stay in the apartment, we were contacted by the host shortly after booking who informed us that the apartment was not quite ready and would we like to stay in the main Château itself. It really is a fairytale Château set within beautiful grounds and has the added benefit of a tennis court.
The hosts Helle and Wolfgang could not do enough to make us feel comfortable and our stay seemed to go to fast.
The Château is located only a short walk from the village and train station. There are direct trains in to Paris which are very clean and spacious, (unlike the ones in the UK).
We went for a few walks along the beautiful river and into the Village and the scenery is breath taking.
The local bars and restaurants offer a good selection of choice and there is a local market on a Saturday.
Whilst we were there Helle and Wolfgang showed us around the apartment and I have to say it looked really lovely and we will definitely be coming back to stay again.
Excellent accommodation with super hosts.
