“Wonderfull place to visit”
Reviewed 21 April 2007

There are hardly words enough to describe these gardens. Statues and well sculpted gardens. The artistry is just right. There are things for everyone nature, art, and beauty. This small part of the garden of Eden is tucked into the coastal Carolinas. Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark with one of the most significant collections of figurative sculpture in an outdoor setting by American artists in the world. Located between Pawleys Island and Myrtle Beach, it is worth the drive.

“Make time for Brookgreen Gardens and Murrell's Inlet”
Reviewed 26 May 2006

When you are in Myrtle Beach, make time for a day trip to Brookgreen Gardens. It's south of Murrell's Inlet, so while you are driving, take Route 17 through Murrell's Inlet and stop for lunch on the water. We tried Drunken Jack's, but most of the restaurants look nice for a seafood lunch overlooking the water. Brookgreen Gardens is relaxing and peaceful...away from the hustle of the Myrtle Beach area. Most local MB coupon books have a $1 off admission. Take time for the domestic and indigenous animal tour...a great little zoo. If you have time, take the Plantation Cafe tour where a guide takes you through the animal area during feeding time...the birds, otters, foxes, and alligators are easier to see when they come out for feeding time. Then wander the sculpture gardens...very peaceful. Wear your walking shoes if you want a nice stroll between the nature areas. Otherwise, a shuttle is available for those who want to ride.

Brookgreen is truly amazing. I go there several times a year and always hate to leave. It's full of flowers, animals and sculpture. It's a very peaceful place. If you want to see some amazing photographs from my travels there, or to hear more about it, feel free to email me.
