Its a Homewood on the beach. So the location is great and can walk to the central MB boardwalk easily. Similar hotels in the area were charging less for similar accommodation. Only one evening snack a week vs 4 at regular Homewoods. Parking is also an extra $10. Parking garage a 5-10 min walk. $25 for valet in the same garage. Vagrants and vacant buildings between hotel and garage. Broken glass from a windshield on level two which usually indicates a break-in. Minimal security, Few cameras, so beware with your vehicle.
Everything nice and clean. A good half refrigerator and microwave. $15 per day recreation fee. Be prepared to pay $25+ per hour for late checkout regardless of your Hilton membership level. Breakfast was good and in-line with similar Homewood hotels.
Overall, I expected the normal Homewood experience, which it was not the same. Especially in accommodations to the no-fee checkout time extension as a long term Hilton member. Disappointed the staff was unable to accommodate a simple no-fee extension on a Tuesday morning in November when the hotel was nearly empty. I thought it was overpriced compared to competition the given the season, day of week, and extra charges.
Bottom line is that is is kinda of trying to be a Homewood Suites, but its on the beach, so weigh all that in your decision to stay vs the offerings at many like hotels in the immediate area vs price. But don't expect what you normally expect from a typical Homewood stay.
