I'm almost reluctant to sing the praises of this excellent hotel because I don't want to come back next year and find my spot taken!

The Island Vista has to be Myrtle Beach's best kept secret. We stayed in the three bedroom unit with four adults and four kids under 8 and there was so much room. We easily could have added another family. Everything was clean and well organized and the furniture and amenities are still very new and well looked after. The balcony was enormous and accessable from both the main living room and the master bedroom. Being a corner unit we had views of the ocean head-on, and the beach curving up towards the next cluster of hotels far, far in the distance.

And that brings me to the best part about this hotel...the location. The Island Vista was apparently rebuilt 4-5 years ago on the site of a much older establishment, so it is smack in the middle of a residential neighbourhood. The advantage to this is that even when the hotel is at maximum capacity AND it's the weekend and the locals are at the beach too, the beach in front of the hotel and to either side is wide open and spacious. If we looked up or down the strand to the clumps of hotels in the distance then we could see how crowded the beaches were, but not in front of our hotel. The hotel also has two outdoor pools and an indoor pool with lazy river and wading pool and we never found them to be overcrowded either.

In years past we used to stay in North Myrtle Beach in an effort to avoid the super crowded beaches, but it was such a long drive to come into Myrtle Beach proper for activities and restaurants. The Island Vista totally solves that problem...we were close to all kinds of activities that the kids enjoyed (especially mini golf) and there's plenty of shopping around to keep me happy too!

The hotel's excellent restaurant also has a meal plan for the duration of your stay, but we opted out because we wanted to try other places in Myrtle Beach and cook for ourselves in our room. Now that we've eaten in the restaurant we will have to give some serious thought to getting the meal plan next time...the restaurant was delicious, the service excellent, and it is super convenient to just come downstairs to your meal (we ended up eating there a few times)!

We loved the entire experience at Island Vista and I'm torn between saying that the location was the best part or the hotel itself was the best part. The only downside I can think of is that there are cheaper ways of doing a trip to Myrtle Beach, but they wouldn't be as comfortable or as conveniently located! We booked far in advance and received an early bird discount, which doesn't hurt!

We are looking forward to returning to Island Vista in the near future. What a great place!

My husband and I blindly made our decision to stay at Island Vista -- we were looking for a resort to stay in for our honeymoon and really wanted to "do it big" and treat ourselves to something better than we normally do. We absolutely loved the pictures of the suites that were available online and were captivated by the beauty of the resort immediately. Being oceanfront was a big deal for us, as we've never had the opportunity to have such an incredible view with such convenient access to the beach every day. Upon arriving we had discovered that our room had been upgraded from a queen to a king-sized suite with an oceanfront bedroom in the penthouse -- we were shocked, how perfect! We couldn't have been happier as we took our first steps into our 'new room' and immediately ran for the patio! Though there was no real way for the staff to know, we somehow knew it was the perfect beginning to our honeymoon -- and it definitely was! We couldn't have been more pleased with the amenities and services available and provided to us daily, it only added to the wonderful experience we had. Every corner we turned we ran into a pleasant staff member who was always courteous and anxious to greet us with kind words and a smile, it was so nice seeing everyone in such high spirits! We highly recommend dining in the Cypress Room, the restaurant attached at the lobby of the resort. Though my husband and I only had breakfast there (nearly every day, in fact), the food was incredible, the service accommodating, and the view nothing short of spectacular! The 2 outdoor pools, indoor pool, and in/outdoor hot tubs were enough to ensure that there was something for everyone. The location of Island Vista is ideal as well ... Being tucked away in a residential area, guests are provided with that small element of seculsion we all seek when on vacation, while all the big attractions, restaurants, and shops are within convenient driving distances. Though it's a year away, we're already trying to make plans with both of our families for a joint group vacation at Island Vista next summer! We can't wait to come back and spend another week here ... our stay was nothing short of incredible!!!

Island Vista was everything it promises. We stayed in a 3BR unit and it was fantastic. There is something for everyone. The grandparents loved the shade on the great lawn and the rocking chairs and of course the beach. The kids loved the pools, the kids club activities, and the waves. All of the staff were great. Every time we saw any of the staff, even in the elevators, they went out of their way to be friendly and to accommodate us in every way. The Cypress Room restaurant was terrific. If you go, you have to do breakfast and have the sweet potato pancakes! This is in a perfect location. It's close to everything you want to do like eat out and shop and do "touristy" stuff but it's out of the way at the same time. It's situated in a neighborhood setting so the surrounding area and the beach isn't crowded at all. This was the best vacation I've taken in a long time.

We've been going to this location since 1994 when it was the Sea Island. The staff stayed on when the new Island Vista was built and opened in 2006. The location directly on the beach, the beautiful, spacious condos, the uncrowded beach, and the friendly staff are all reasons why we keep going back. Island Vista is the only place we stay when we go to Myrtle Beach.

My family and I stayed at the Island Vista after viewing pictures of accomodations on the web. What a pleasnt surprise! The rooms were exactly as pictured. They were even more breathtaking when we saw our rooms.

From start to end, our stay was pleasant and enjoyable. It;s not a large or small resort. It;s just the right size to be able to relax and enjoy the many activites and ammenities. There were events for all ages.

The Resort was clean and plush. The staff were friendly and eager to please. I felt a genuineness and sincerity in our interactions.

I have recommended Island Vista to my friends and family. I can't wait to get back there.
This one is a keeper and definitely deserves a 5 Star rating.

We were very impressed with our stay. Every thing was so conveniently located. We could relax by the pool and see our children playing nearby. We also enjoyed the beach. The view was incredible and access was very easy. Just a few steps away and you were on the beach. The condo was very nice (exactly like the pictures on their website). We stayed in a 3 bedroom 3 bath and it was very roomy for the six of us. When we were there we collected all kinds of awesome seashells right on the beach at the resort. Also we liked that the parking deck was right off the hall in which we were staying. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and intend on visiting again. Thanks for making our vacation special.

We stayed at Island Vista, Myrtle Beach in june 2010 with 2f amilies including 5 kids. We rented 3 BR/3BA condo, it was excellent, neat, and clean. View was superb. Manager and staff where accomadating to our request. Lazy river was relaxing, pools where clean. Staff was polite. We highly recommend it. It is located in a quiite residential neighborhood. If you stay here try breakfast at the Restruant in the Lobby. Lobby needs updating.
