“Worst Trip - Will NOT BE BACK or Book With ELLIOT”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2011

Sunrise Pointe 4D Rental through Elliot Beach Rentals was the worst possible unit my family could have experienced. Seven of my family members (including myself) take an annual girls vacation trip to North Myrtle each year. It is a good location for all who travel from Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and even California. Small pool area, no hot tub outside. We checked in at 3pm and arrived to our "luxury" and "non-smoking" unit only to be overwhelmed by the smell of smoke when opening the door. Walking on through the condo, we realized there were cigarette butts and ashes in the living room area rug. Since we all have severe allergies to smoke, we went to open the balocony door to see a sign that said "door lock broken." Wow. Safety first. Glad we have a 7 year old child with us. Outside on the patio there was black cigarette ash covering the tables, chairs, and floor.
Once the first shock had hit us, we continued to inspect the unit. The site promised "2 twin beds" which had been shoved together in the middle of the room. The queen bed in the other bedroom had a large brown stain on the comforter and cobwebs were hanging from the ceiling. Two of the bathrooms had molded/mildewed shower curtains, while the master bath had a walk in shower and the door was covered in black mold. All the bathrooms had dirty rugs.
After making 2 phone calls and a trip to the Elliot rental office, a young male came to "clean" the bathrooms. All he did was use a spray bottle on the wall and replace the shower curtains. Elliot promised at this particular time to have the room "ionized" to remove the smoke smell and to have the carpets cleaned. Elliot said this would all be taken care of by 7pm. This promise was not fufilled. During our entire week stay, no one showed up to ionize the air or clean the carpets.
The next morning, day 2 of our vacation, another trip was made to Elliot rental. We were given $60 to spend at a nearby restaurant. This was all. No refund, no cleaners, not even a clean bedspread.
Later in day 2, a man showed up to fix the broken dishwasher and garbage disposal. Too bad he couldn't fix the broken washer or microwave.
Day 3, two women showed up to the condo unannounced to clean the bathrooms which had already been "cleaned." We instructed them to take the 4 comforters and all the bath rugs to be washed. None of these were ever returned before our check out.
The last day of our stay, our checkout day, we were all packing getting ready to leave for our flights. Check out time is 11am. At 7:30am we had 3 cleaners show up trying to rush us. They returned back at 9am telling us that there were people checking in at 11am and they needed to clean.
Sometime throughout the week we found coal underneath all the beds. Talk about creepy. I always thought coal was used as a part of voodoo or some type of folklore. This is not an inviting thing to place in a "luxury" condo. And also there is a small plastic door that appears to be a cat door. The unit is supposed to be pet-free, but I guess the owners don't want to obey by their own rules.
Elliot has the poorest customer service and management I have ever experienced. So many things were handled the wrong way or failed to be handled at all. I advise anyone and everyone to stay away from Elliot rental and to also stay away from this unit/condo/4D.
STAY AWAY!!!!!

Room Tip: Gross, Dirty, Wouldn't have my dog sleep there.

We booked our condo (9E) through Elliott Realty and the condo was exactly as it appeared on their website (minus the draperies). Check-in was super fast and easy...as was finding the building. The condo was very well decorated but watch out for the bedroom furniture---many of the drawers don't work too well. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that whoever cleaned our unit prior to our arrival must have been blind. It was not as clean as I would have liked....but they were very apologetic and sincere about fixing it. Maybe I'm just too fussy, but I don't like to find sand on the bar-top counter. The other odd thing was there were no screens on the windows or balcony doors---so we kept them closed as not to let bugs in. Once I spent over an hour cleaning the unit to my liking--all was well.
The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms had flatscreen TV's with built in DVD players....that came in handy with amusing the kids:)
Otherwise the pool area is great.....small but suited our needs and it probably helped that it wasn't crowded. Easy access to the beach and in a nice quiet area...away from all the action/noise.
I would definatley book with Elliott Realty again.....but I would demand better cleaning service and better linen package (the sheets barely fit the beds).

We booked our stay through Grand Strand Vacations for condo 10G. The pictures on Grand Strand's website were very accurate and helpful in knowing what to pack. We found the condo spotless upon arrival. Cleanliness was a paramount concern before deciding where to stay. Someone mentioned that since we were going early in the season, most places should be relatively clean. We booked the middle of June (13-21)which was not considered high season yet so we got a great price-- $1500 after taxes for 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms.

The beach was never over-crowded, though the pool could get a little rowdy with kids when it drizzled outside. There are lots of fun tidal pools at low tide just north of the condo where North Myrtle meets the preserve. We didn't have issues with noise, and we had 3 children under 3 in our group to worry about naps and early bedtimes. The master bedroom with whirlpool tub was very spacious--the closet doubled as a bedroom for a toddler. The twin bedroom had plenty of room for both twin beds and dressers. The queen bedroom was a very tight fit. The living area was nicely arranged with the kitchen looking over the dining table by way of a bar counter and directly into the living room. Two parking spots are assigned to each condo.

There's a grocery store about 1.5 miles south and tons of shopping and restaurants about 15 minutes away (Wal-Mart, Bargain Beachwear, Olive Garden...) back on Rt.17. It took us 30-45 mins. to get to Myrtle Beach proper, but that was a fine distance for us. My husband and I preferred shopping at Calahan's of Calabash for their FABULOUS fudge. Our favorite restaurant was Flynn's Irish Tavern on Main Street. Make a point to go on Monday for the roast beef--it's unbelievable. We heard Parson's Table just north in North Carolina was worth the 15 minute drive, but we never had time without our toddler to try it out.

We rented a 3 bedroom condo at Sunrise Pointe. It was spacious and very comfy with great furnishings and comfortable beds. I liked the assigned parking as you don't have to hunt for spaces. Did not like the pools and lazy river that well. The pool was very small and cold b/c it is under the parking deck. Also, the lazy river is small and there is a public access walkway through the middle of the pool and the lazy river, so you have to go in and out of gates to get to each. Overall, I recommend Sunrise Pointe if you want a nice room and great beach, however, the pools are lacking.

Our family stayed in this quiet condominium complex for a week in June 2006. We found the view to be fantastic and the northern area of Cherry Grove to be quite a bit more peaceful than other areas of Myrtle Beach.
The location is just south of an inlet and there are plenty of opportunities to observe beach critters within a short walk. We even had a beautiful golden eagle fly right in front of our 10th floor balcony!
The condo was spacious and had nearly everything we needed, (minus the usual linens and paper goods...bring your own) but alas, as had been our experience previously in North Myrtle, it was not clean when we arrived. (See my other reviews). However, this time I was well-prepared to clean upon arrival, and my cleaning fee was deducted from the rental fee.
The pools are located partially beneath the building on the ground level, so you might want to take into account that the lazy river is mostly shaded and in early June was still rather cold. It didn't stop the kids, of course, but there was no way I would get in. The indoor pool was drained for repair during our stay, but it looked spacious enough and had large window-walls. The outdoor pool was quite adequate for a complex this size. Parking was ample and rather easy to navigate for this type of condo...we didn't have any trouble finding our assigned spot. The building seems to be well-maintained. We didn't encounter any broken appliances, elevators, or any shabbiness at all. Someone is taking good care of it.
In my opinion, this is a rather nice, if "plain-jane", complex and you will enjoy your stay more if you rent from an individual owner.

Stayed at Sunrise Pointe with my husband and our friends for a long weekend. The complex is newer, very clean and right on the beach. Our condo (5E) was a spacious 3 bedroom and had everything we could have asked for (even a DVD and Playstation 2). The furnishings were updated and comfortable...felt like home. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. We really enjoyed the pool and the lazy river. If you walk North up the beach to the Inlet it is absolutely beautiful. I have stayed at condos in Myrtle Beach before and this one is by far my favorite. Can't beat it for the price you pay. Close enough to dining/shopping, but very quiet and relaxing. I would recommend Sunrise Pointe to anyone!
