We stopped by Aunt Sue's after a day of hiking for an ice cream treat. They had numerous flavors of ice cream to choose from and the service was excellent.

Very crowded on weekends in the summer, so we went on a Tuesday in mid-afternoon. We had excellent service. The food was OK but nothing special. Good ice cream. Interesting shops beside the restaurant.

If you are looking for the quintessential Southern restaurant, Aunt Sue's is DA place. Country fried Steak, and other stuff. Food is very delicious and portions are large. Prices very reasonable. The Fried green tomatoes are the best I have ever tasted. Onion rings awesome. Everything was great!!! We were a large group of 12 so it did take some time to get served. When done you pay at the counter. There is an ice cream parlor, and several other country shops. parking was easy as well. Fabulous homemade fudge. Limited menu but all good. We needed a salad without iceberg lettuce and they accommodated. Hard for gluten free folks except a salad.

There aren't a lot of choices for a weekday lunch. I had the fried chicken breast, and it was okay, although it bothered me that the mashed potatoes were served in a foam cup. I don't understand why they weren't just added to the plate. The fried okra was served separately as well, although there was a lot of it. It would be nice if they would add more side dishes to the menu that would include vegetables other than green beans and okra, such as stewed tomatoes or corn.
