CCC cabin built ~1908 moved from Custer area to Hill City in 1940's. Expect history with plumbing & electric renovations .. not modern luxury. It's exactly what our family wanted; in the heart of most Black Hills attractions. I wasn't traveling in my usual...moho, but should you have some family in that travel mode, an RV (big rig friendly) park is just down the hill. You won't get a moho up the hill anyway. Kitchen is larger than website pics (newer stove, micro, dishwasher); bathrooms are smaller than pictured (one shower, one TINY-cute claw-foot tub) but each of three bedrooms upstairs has a sink & stool. From the guestbook it seems this has been a vacation rental since 2006.
The cabin is private lot, NOT one of a 'group circle' which was another plus for us! Hwy 87 is VERY narrow but the cabin is only ~1.5miles on that road, so about 4-5 total miles S of Hill City. The cabin is clean (expecting 100 year old logs, wooden floors, and skewed doors). We came to Black Hills to celebrate family birthdays (me, my brother & family, my daughter & family), and to ride the Mickelson Trail. One family wanted to visit Rushmore; another Reptile Gardens, yet another traveled several backcountry byways ... each day going separate ways yet back in time for dinner and discussion around the fireplace. Each family enjoyed the cabin - vowing to visit again. I'm firstname.lastname@example.org if you care to ask more questions of me.
