Booked cheapest room online. At check-in was told that "those rooms" were in an old annex across the highway (no crosswalk). Went to room and there was only one bed. Back to office where I had to wait because the desk clerk was literally out to lunch. Explained problem, and was told, "Oh, we'll just put you up 'in house', those are nicer rooms". OK. "The bad news is, we'll have to charge you more". I said that wasn't acceptable, so she called a manager, who obviously said to give us the better room. "But, he wants to pay the rate he booked at", she said. That was the end of that. So, back across the highway with the clerk and a pass key, so she could find a room with two beds and a working TV. What I got was reasonably clean and comfortable, although the decor was right out of the 70s. Also, I'm glad it was spring, because it got a little humid, and the AC wasn't working. Maybe they turn it on in the summer?
Breakfast was OK, although one morning an employee was watching a movie on the TV, rather than having it on morning news. Bottom line: I wanted a cheap room, and that's what I got. That's all I got.
