Spent a night here passing through Masaya. A garishly decorated place in communal areas but the room was grim although it had plenty of bed space - a huge bed & another double, but nothing by the bedsides to put anything on - no light besides an awful blue-ish main light. I didn’t feel it was particularly clean. Pillows didn’t smell clean. Bathroom had airbricks around the top to the ceiling & was extremely basic. Couldn’t get shower hot. Sleep quality was not good. I was woken up by the dog barking at 3:15 a.m followed by a loud intermittent buzzing sound which went on for over an hour. Sounded like someone using a drill but for the duration I thought someone was trying to get into the hotel & was too scared to put my ear plugs in. Turned out none of the noise was within the control of the hotel but it is centrally located & therefore you are subject to other nightly noise. The best thing about the place was the manager/reception guy. His English was extremely good, he has a very nice demeanour. It wasn’t overpriced particularly for the quality, however I wouldn’t stay again given the choice but I don’t think there is much choice in Masaya.More
