This is the first time we have visited County Clare and Mount Cashel served as a great base to explore.
We actually stayed in on of the smaller units but it was still a great place.
On arrival, there was bread and milk in the fridge, the lights were on, the apartment was warm and there was music playing - all a great introduction.
Pat and Annette were warm, welcoming and informative on local attractions and we used their advice as the basis for our time in the area.
The grounds around the house are beautiful and the access to the lake and the canoes would be a real plus (if you were a bit younger) and the donkeys are real characters.
My only comment (not really a criticism as this is intended as a classic house) is that I would have thought there would have been a television or radio in the bedrooms.
All in all a great place and to be recommended.
I have no connection with the owners other than as a paying guest.

This accommodation was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable.
2 lovely friendly dogs and 4 inquisitive chickens.
A trampoline and goal post for the kids.
A lovely walled garden walk.
A nice little BBQ pit.
And a fantastically well equipped fishing shed by the lake - life jackets, canoes, keeper nets, etc.
A beautiful place to stay if you're looking for a quiet fishing weekend.
And I'm sure it'd be a good place to stay if you wanted to drive about a bit too.
