Work Stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 27, 2018
Stayed here for 4 months for work. Very quiet and peaceful, feel like I had the best lot. Owners were very friendly and made sure everything was ok with the site. At checkout there was a minor error which Mrs Lockwood quickly took care of. Look forward to my return.

Our family really enjoyed our trip to the Cross- eyed Cricket ,where we met up and visited with other family members. What a beautiful place! The pond was beautiful and the trees were gorgeous. It is definitely a friendly, family oriented, clean and quiet campground and I would highly recommend it for your family camping tripaswell as being an outstanding place for a wedding or family reunion! I highly recommend the Cross- eyed Cricket and I would definitely go again!

Away from the hustle and feeling safe makes this a Great family setting. Walk around the lake, watch the ducks,or take a swim in their pool. Relax by the creek with a good book, what more could one ask for in this setting?

We spent the night at the Crosseyed Cricket and were so happy to get a spot away from all the noise on I-40. The only thing is that they do not take reservations and, even though we were told that it wouldn't be a problem to find a site on a Monday, when we arrived at around 7 p.m. there was only one open site left. Thank goodness we were able to get the last one and set up for the night. We were tired from driving all day and, if there would not have been a site available, we would have had to continue on and search for a new place to overnight which would have been hard since it was getting dark and we were tired. I would definitely recommend staying here for a quiet place to rest over night and rates are very affordable BUT I would have a Plan B campground in the area just in case you arrive and there are no spots available.

This park is quiet and very clean. Unfortunately they take no reservations so it's hard to plan for sure to stay there.
We we're parked on the first site as you drive in on the left right on the road so I couldn't put awning out or leave door open.
The owners are incredibly nice. They only take cash or check. We would stay again but would choose a different site. We have a 35 ft motor home, towing.

The site you occupied is a pull-thru that is built to enter going either direction. Entering from the opposite direction you took not only gives you room to put your awning out, but also has your door open facing the creek. We are so glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet. Hope to see you again before long.

My grandparents took us camping here all the time when I was younger, so for my kids bdays, instead of spending $300 on an hour party somewhere...we bought camping gear and invited the family out for a walk down memory lane. While the restaurant is no longer open (so sad), they still have catch and release fishing and the pool and bathhouse were very clean :) Our site sat on the back of the grounds right on the creek and the kids didn't even bother with the pool the whole first day! It was a great time. I do think that if the pavilion was kept up a little better it would be very inviting, but our little gathering by the creek for cake and presents was perfect. Will definitely visit again soon. Thanks for the memories :))

Helping people make happy memories has been our objective ever since we opened.
We are so glad your family made great memories when you were young, and honored that you chose to continue that tradition by having your sons birthday here.
Thanks for taking time to share with us, and we will look forward to seeing you again.
