“Absolutely stunning”

This is very beaturiful place to stay. Very specious. One major benefit is the unlike many European vacation this place has all bedrooms with en suite bathroom except one.

Rooms are specious. Lots of natural light in all rooms. There is huge lawn. There is lot of common area within the property viz. living room, library etc. They also have backyard with sitting arrangement.

Owners are very very helpful.

Few things to keep mind is Bansha is name of small town and there are other properties with similar names like Bansha House etc.

Town is small. We did not find any major grocery store nearby. Nearest TESCO or LIKD is about 7//8 km away, though it is not a big problem.

Most attaractions are about 45 min to 2 hours away.

From Dublin it took us about 2.5 hours to reack. Cork airport is nearer but Dublin has more international connections.

“A perfect mix of new and old”
Reviewed April 20, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We have just spent a long weekend at Bansha Castle and it has everything you could ask for. John and Teresa made us feel very welcome indeed, the house was very clean and very comfortable indeed. Real log fires, out door seating with heating, well equipped kitchen and ensuite bathrooms with wonderful beds and bedding. A real homely feel, yet its a mansion. We do this every year, staying at different places and this has to be one of the best...the space just works and there is plenty of room everywhere.
Thanks very much for a brilliant stay...I wouldnt hesitate to book it again and recommend thoroughly.

“Another great stay at Bansha”
Reviewed April 8, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

This was our third trip to Bansha Castle and yet again we had a fantastic time. Each time we've had a different group, and all have been very impressed with the house, the bedrooms, the quality of the house and the friendliness of the owners, John and Teresa.

The village is literally at the end of the drive and the local pubs are fantastic. Walks in the nearby mountains are a great way to shake off the cobwebs.

Cannot recommend this highly enough. You won't be disappointed.

“3 years in a row- another great stay”
Reviewed February 3, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We have stayed at Bansha Castle 3 years in a row now. A group of friends we meet up once a year for a weekend away. Bansha Castle ticks all the right boxes and is the perfect location for a get together. Our hosts John and Teresa are great fun and we had a lovely drink with them on the Saturday evening. Bansha Castle is also dog friendly and our dog had a ball and even made some new friends! The only problem was that the trip was too short. Looking forward to next year.

“The Perfect Place to Stay”
Reviewed August 26, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

There really is no better place to stay in Ireland. Convenient location, fabulous hosts, wonderful scenery, and luxerious accommodations. You have the charm of a castle but all the modern conveniences. We loved it and will stay again.

“The most magical way to experience Ireland.”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

People say all the time they had a wonderful time in Ireland, but what do they really mean? If you love elegant, private living that is cozy and welcoming than Bansha Castle is the place to stay. All 17 of the Reardon's stayed for a week. Ages ranged from 9 to 75 and there was something there for all of us. We enjoyed Teresa and John immensely and they were so helpful with ideas for us on places to visit. We took day trips in our 4 rental cars after having long breakfasts, great workouts (we ran through the town of Bansha and found a nice 4 mile loop) while the kids played and worked out in the expansive front yard. We enjoyed buying our own groceries and cooking for ourselves as much as we enjoyed eating out. The back patio is wonderful regardless of warm or cold weather. We enjoyed Nelly's Pub. In fact, we knew we had found the perfect jewel of a location when we met a US-ex pat professor at the bar who spends summers living in Bansha and serving as a tour guide for large groups. When we told him we were staying with Teresa and John his reply was, "So your the ones who stole the house from me. I always put all of my tours at Bansha Castle." Can't say enough good things.

Liked best: The accomodations, the location, Teresa and John and Nelly's Pub
Liked least: Some of us had hay fever due to the spring-like weather but that's a real nit

“Fabulous start to 2013”
Reviewed January 9, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

This was the second time my husband and I had spent new year's eve at Bansha Castle with 8 friends and it was even better than last time. We booked in January 2012 to make sure we got it, as there isn't a more luxurious house in Ireland for a large group of people and it is very reasonably priced. Theresa and John can't do enough for you, when we arrived we had champagne and chocolates waiting for us and they were available for any questions we had on local attractions, best pubs and transport links. The castle is two minutes walk from Bansha village, which has everything you need including friendly pubs and a shop with all the basics. Nearby are the Galtee hills with lots of walking and beautiful views. Tipperary and Cashel towns are nearby where you can see famous castles and other sights.
Bansha castle is unique in having seven bedrooms that are all equally charming, so no one has to fight over who gets which and each has its own bathroom. The kitchen is better equipped than my own and the new outdoor terrace is a great feature. The full sized snooker table as always, provided hours of entertainment.
I couldn't recommend Bansha Castle more and will definitely be back again.
