Owner description: The National Trust of Guernsey Victorian Shop and Parlour is one of the oldest complete properties situated within the walls of St Peter Port and boasts not only the original little shop with its museum contents and sweets weighed out by the quarter but a set of wooden reed shutters dating back to 1760 and a small Victorian Parlour. The shop stocks many items handcrafted in Guernsey plus Heritage seeds, local souvenirs, tea towels, cards, books, TreasureSand pendants, items from the Robert Opie Memorabilia range and toys. Old local coinage, first day covers, used stamps, old books and postcards, linen, bric-a-brac, second hand books and wooden buttons fill the Collectors Corner. We are sole stockists of knitting patterns designed locally for Guernsey Cobo Alice and Cobo Fred dolls and Puffin. Something for everyone! We are open from Easter until the end of September and nine days prior to Christmas.

So pleased to read that you enjoyed your visit to the Victorian Shop. The staff enjoy sharing a brief history of the shop with customers when time allows.
A donation towards the upkeep of this unique little piece of Guernsey is always appreciated. Thank you.

Traditional sweet shop lots of original artefacts coupled with old fashioned sweets for sale and local handicrafts. The shop is unaltered since Victorian times free to enter and the friendly assistant a mine of local information.

What a pleasure to read such a review at the end of a busy Summer season in the Victorian shop. You have so accurately described the shop to "would be" visitors walking up to the shop from the Town Church.

The Christmas shop reopens three days a week from December 2nd fully stocked with a traditional selection of sweet and local handicrafts.

We only came across this on the way to Victor Hugo's house. It's a little gem of a place. The lady inside was very keen and explained the interesting history of the building. You could buy sweets and other goods within its limited space.

Thank you so much for your review of our attractive little shop. It really completes a visit to Victor Hugo's house as he probably shopped in this little gem of a place.

Shop and museum in one. Really charming and a refreshing look at times gone by. Great place to buy gifts and souvenirs as the selection of things to buy is wonderful and very reasonable prices. Interesting history to the shop and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a must visit.

Thank you so much for giving the shop your feedback. It is often quite difficult for customers to realise what is behind the frontage of the shop when just peeping through the front door. Your summing up of this unique little shop really gives future visitors a good idea of what to expect when they are selecting a place to visit.
