“Excellent Stay”

We had a lovely week at the Barn at Cotmore Farm in September with our two children, aged 3 and 1. The Barn is exactly as it looks in the photos and is clean and spacious, with all mod cons and a large fully equipped kitchen. There is a lovely private garden with table, chairs and barbecue which is a nice little sun trap, and the orchard just next door with a big trampoline for jumping on (couldn't get our daughter off of it!). The farm is a great place for children and our daughter really enjoyed visiting the pigs, sheep and horses, collecting the eggs from the chickens and playing with Jack the dog. Piers and Sue were always on hand to help if needed but were not at all intrusive - great hosts.
The roads around the farm are quite narrow but we got used to them fairly quickly. The farm is a great base for exploring - we had never been to Devon before but had great trips out to Salcombe, Dartmouth, Blackpool Sands and Totnes. We also visited Woodlands Leisure Park and Pennywell Farm which were both lots of fun. Kingsbridge itself is a nice place with plenty of little shops and nice restaurants (we loved the Crabshell Inn, and the Tradesmans Arms in the nearby village) and proximity to some really nice beaches.
There is lots to do and see in the area - I'm sure that we will be back and would definitely stay at the Barn again. Highly recommended.

“Brilliant base to explore South Devon”

This was our first visit to Devon, with a baby about to crawl, an 8yr old and a small dog. We had a lot on our plate!

The accommodation was great, finished to a high standard with everything a family would need. Parking near the Barn was spot on, easy to access, we had a lot of stuff with us so didn't want to walk far.

Set in a beautiful part of Devon, in a small holding, the children loved visiting the pigs, chickens and horses. The pigs provided excellent sausages and the chucks delivered fab eggs.

We didn't manage to fit in half what we wanted to do, so will make sure we visit the area again.

“Fantastic stay”

We stayed at The Barn for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The barn itself is very well equipped and has all the essentials and added extras you need. The living space upstairs was spacious and well thought out, downstairs, two bedrooms and bathrooms were great and warm with underfloor heating. the log burner upstairs throws out a massive amount of heat on chillier evenings.
The barn is situated on a very quiet farm and even though there are two other holiday cottages in fairly close proximity, it is very peaceful and you never get annoyed by the 'neighbours'. You are free to roam the farm to see the various animals there.
Piers and Sue were great hosts, leaving a lovely welcome basket of food on arrival. They live on the farm but you never feel they are 'spying' on you, but they are always there to help.
A great stay and we would definitely return.

We spent a week here, the cottage is lovely, very well finished inside and we enjoyed the garden at the back which was a nice sun trap. Also a nice welcome basket of produce on arrival.

Location wise, we could walk to the local beach at Beesands in 15 mins, and lots of other nice beaches and places to go see or eat were only a few minutes drive in either direction along the coast.

Lovely place with fantastic view, equipped with all you need for a relaxed stay in the beautiful coastal side of south Devon. The welcome was surptisingly hospitable. The owners are very friendly and standing by for information and the animals at the farm provide for eggs, saucages and a nice rural atmosphere. Minke and Rob from Holland.
