The location, the property itself and the standard of fittings and bedding etc are obsolutely superb, probably the best that one would find nationwide. But everything else was below what I have come to expect & I feel that the owners have been badly advised.
I have rented twice at Thorpeness, Suffolk; twice at a farm in suffolk and once at another in Suffolk. Have stayed at cottages in Derbyshire 3 times. Also stayed at award winning cottages in Wales and Shropshire. So I have some experience. In all of these there were books and maps on the area. Curlew Point has only advertising brochures. Curlew point does have a DVD player but no DVD's it also has a CD player but no CD's. There was a new indoor plant when we arrived and a welcome bottle of wine but the usual pint of milk in the fridge would have been welcome. Some locations include bread, butter and eggs etc. It is also usual to find a whole range of cooking condiments which were not available here. One property owner provided a personal I-Pad for the week but that is exceptional. So in terms of the inexpensive little necessities the property is sadly failing to match the competition. Whilst it sells a dream the outside wooden benches were not particularly comfortable, no outside cushions were available, nor was a sunshade. The BBQ was rusty & derelict with no tools. You need to be prepared to bring a lot of stuff with you to fulfill the dream; but it is worth it as long as you know in advance what to expect
