“Wonderful stay - highly recommended”

We stayed in Cotmore Farm, in Appletree cottage, for a week in August. The location is ideally placed for exploring South Devon, with plenty of beahes within easy reach and both Kingsbridge and Salcombe a short drive away.
The cottage itself was lovely, the unique design which resulted in a large living space at the top of the cottage worked incredibly well for us and allowed the kids to sleep undisturbed at the bottom floor while we were cooking and watching films at the top floor.
The level of finish is excellent, with plenty of little touches that make the difference between a normal holiday let and luxurious week away. To mention a few, there's a private patio at the back which is great to sit in on sunny days, a strong WiFi signal, plenty of high quality cooking equipment in the kitchen and a supply of sausages made from the farm's own pigs, which were very tasty!
We can highly recommend the farm and the cottage itself, which felt like great value for money, we really didn't want to leave and were tempted to add another week to our stay...
The only things which we could think of as points for improvement were adding blinds or curtains to the windows facing the farm house in the top floor, for an even greater sense of privacy once it turns dark, and a trim to the vegetation along the short path to the car park.
We certainly hope to come back in the future!

“Fantastic Accommodation, Super Location”

Appletree Cottage is a spacious well proportioned Barn Conversion with all the modern facilities provided.
Large open plan Kitchen / Dining / sitting area upstairs and two well proportioned en-suite bedrooms downstairs.

Ideal location for the beach at Beesands (just down the road) and not too far away are the beaches at Torcross and Blackpool Sands.

Great central location to visit Dartmouth and Salcombe

Piers and Sue were wonderful hosts who live on site in the Farm House.
I can recommend trying their eggs, bacon and sausages which are sourced from their farm.

Will definitely be booking to come back sometime soon.

Wow - what a special place Appletree Cottage is. We were lucky to find this fantastic cottage and had a great week long stay there. The cottage is beautiful - well equipped with a very high spec, high quality interior with great original artwork adorning the walls and a great library of books to read. The owners had provided a delicious welcome pack and fresh flowers on our arrival. Lovely outdoor space too for eating outdoors and on an idyllic farm in the Devon countryside. Mixed weather during our week but it was no hardship to stay indoors when the house is so lovely. The owners are extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly and our son really enjoyed talking to Sue about the horses and feeding the pigs & piglets with Piers. The area is beautiful, lots to do - very close to lots of good beaches - Beesands and Slapton Sands being particularly close. Good food in the nearby Church House Inn in Stokenham. We had a great day out catching the ferry to Salcombe from East Portlemouth and enjoyed the beach on our return. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge both great towns with lovely shops, cafés and galleries - the Red Propeller Gallery in Kingsbridge was really interesting. Would absolutely recommend Appletree Cottage with no hesitation at all - the best self catering property we have stayed in and the area is wonderful too. A fantastic holiday - will definitely return.

We had a fantastic stay at the newly converted Appletree Cottage, the quality and attention to detail of the accommodation were second to none. The ‘upside down’ conversion of the barn worked brilliantly giving a lovely sunny living area and cool and quiet bedrooms. The hospitality of the owners was excellent, and we were made to feel extremely welcome. It was wonderful that we were encouraged to explore the farm, and my young son thoroughly enjoyed meeting the animals and exploring for eggs on a very regular basis! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We had a fabulous time rediscovering the South Hams area which is particularly beautiful in June. Appletree Cottage was perfectly located for our visit and we particularly enjoyed being on the farm with Bess the pig and her piglets, as well as chickens, sheep and all the other animals. Lovely peaceful week.

We enjoyed a fantastic, relaxing week in this newly converted holiday cottage. The cottage is finished to a very high standard, equipped with everything you might need. A real treat to stay there! Location is fantastic, with loads to see and do in the surrounding areas. Owners very friendly and welcoming of our visits to see their animals - including the little piglets which were born whilst we were there! We will definitely return.
