Cheapest pub we could find on a budget and the food was amazing. Friendly staff and dog friendly. They don't have a car park but there is 1 just a minutes walk away.

Visited here whilst down in Devon. What a gem of a pub! Lovely setting and great home cooked food. All of the family were very happy with their meals and we can't wait to return again!!!

We stayed in Morthoe for a week in early February and visited The Ship Aground three times, twice for dinner. Nice ambience for out of season, roaring log fire and felt nice and cosy and staff friendly. Quite a large food menu, with a specials board. Both nights I had the lamb special - lamb rump cooked beautifully, nice and pink, served with creamy mash potato and seasonal veg (it was that good the first time I had to have it again!). Hubby had a burger the first night and then a fish special the second night. He enjoyed both but was secretly jealous of my lamb I think! Everything was freshly cooked to order and good quality ingredients used. Not particularly cheap but certainly not expensive for the quality that we received. If we're ever in Morthoe again then we wouldn't hesitate to go back for food and/or drinks.

We visited with the family for an evening meal. The food was average, very quickly prepared and filled a hole but wouldn't rush back.
