Just back from a 2 night weekend break, we had 2 rooms – 1 suite and 1 twin (both sea view). The hotel is wonderful, recently refurbished and top notch. To be honest I could not really fault the hotel at all, we ate on 1 night in Doyle’s restaurant, the food was awesome – came out quickly, well-seasoned, clearly the chef and team know what they are doing.

The staff is friendly and always quick to with you a good morning! Perhaps the hotel is a teeny bit expensive (for an out of season break), but I would not hesitate to come back here and am already planning to do so in the summer.

The food here was so tasty and the service was very attentive I would definitely go here again although it is not cheap - a special occasion place to go and there were two Birthdays where the staff came in with a cake and candles. I had the prawn starter and although there were not lots of Prawns they tasted superb and chicken for the main course which was in a special breadcrumb with tasty herbs and spices and triple cooked chips - can't wait to go again!

Despite other reviews, lovely meal in Doyle's for my wife's 40th.
Pleasing menu, prompt service and a reasonable bill with wine on the tab.
Would be happy to return.
Ham Hock Terrine, Rump of lamb and cheese board....and a lovely setting.
Will return.

I've been going to the Woolacombe bay hotel for about 20 years (I'm now 29) and I think it's a wonderful place to relax.

The hotel itself is lovely, there are large drawing rooms which are usually empty ( I do go in low season though) where you can sit and do with or read. There's a lovely spa with good therapists, a nice pool, sauna, steam room.

I usually stay in the self catering apartments, and these are lovely for a family. The hotel staff are airways polite and friendly, and really quick to respond to any issues.

The only things id want improved:

- it would be good to have loungers for the indoor pool so I could lay and read a book.

- the Wi-Fi was very weak in the apartment we had.

Id really recommend this hotel, it's lovely.

Large older hotel with gardens , pool and a path to the beach .Reception very welcoming , staff member helped with bags to the room and to the car when we left . We had a comfortable suite .2 adults and 5 month old baby.Cot provided - free of charge. Dining in hotel ,room service .No problem with baby in or out of pram in dining rooms or lounge .We stayed out of season so hotel fairly quiet.
Spa treatments in hotel .

Room Tip: Sea views at front ,small lift to upper floors, our 2 bedr ,2 bathr , 1 lounge suite very roomy but no view .
