As a party of 4 we had 3 different meals. Good traditional pub food, sound value in basic surroundings with genuine old fashioned hospitality. Dog friendly with dogs getting a few treats also.
Local pub with regulars and drinks not overpriced.
Within easy walking distance of Golden Coast holiday complex.

Stayed in a family room for 3 nights whilst attending a wedding in Woolacombe. I agree with other comments that it is dated but if you can see past that it was really clean, with comfy beds and the children’s bunks were in an adjoining room meaning everyone had lots of space. The owners were really helpful and the breakfast was really good too. Didn’t have time to try the carvery but judging by the queues for it I imagine it too is good.

Arrived on bank holiday Saturday for a 2 night stay booked via booking.com. Greeted by a member of the bar staff who showed us to our room (no. 7). Room wasn't the biggest. Equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, small tv and a heater.

Walking to our room we noticed how dated the decor was, the carpet was threadbare and unfortunately had a musty smell. The windows on the landing did not open which may have helped with ventilation.

We did not have a meal at the pub, we walked across the road to the holiday park and ate at the pub there.

We came back and had a few drinks and a game of pool . Wasnt overly busy but this is expected as not in the centre of Woolacombe.

Breakfast is served 8.15-9.00 and this is a buffet breakfast serving, cereal, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages and has browns.

This is where our stay went downhill. We returned to our room as it was heavily raining outside and planned to wait til it eased off. We are glad that we did as our room started to leak rain water from the cracks in the ceiling. I found one of the ladies cleaning the room who told me she wasn't surprised and that the landlord had not repaired all the roof even though he had been advised.

The landlord came and advised that they had no other rooms to move us to, and we were not prepared to stay in a room with a leaking ceiling. The landlord managed to find us a B & B in Ilfracombe for the night. If the weather had not turned nasty we would have been none the wiser to the leaking roof. The landlord did not charge us for our stay which compensated for us to move to Ilfracombe.

This place could be lovely if they spent the money on it.

Mixed feelings here. Friendly accommodating staff, clean everywhere, however, decor dated and tired. Rooms need new laundry, especially pillows( like biscuits). Beds double not kingsize, tv’s very small. Walls thin, can hear conversation in next room! No internet in bedroom, only on top of the bar.
Cater well for families, and food good. Good location to Woolacombe, but as on main rd a bit noisy.
Pet friendly, so a bonus for those with a dog.
