We have just had the most enjoyable four night stay with our little Shih Tzu at this lovely hotel.
Booking was easy and friendly and I guessed from the initial interaction that this hotel would be a good choice.
Staff were first class, warm, friendly, happy and professional and we were made to feel at home and valued guests from the outset. Sara and Marcus could not have been more helpful. We had a family room which was light, well furnished and comfortable. Breakfasts were out of this world and the local produce, preparation and proportions were excellent and absolutely delicious. The first night as we were tired from driving we sampled the lite bites in the Cellar Bar rather than dine out but as these were so tasty and satisfying we repeated this most evenings - the food and ambience was super - tasty, restful and welcoming and I'd really recommend doing this if you don't want to go out. We were given a list of recommended places to eat and the offer of booking for us so every little extra is considered to make guests' stay enjoyable. The car park may look a tight fit on arrival but don't be put off as once you've parked and got out ok it is easily manageable. Our little dog was fussed and made so welcome and numerous coffee shops and places to eat in town are doggie friendly. The hotel is conveniently situated and all the main shops of Bridport are minutes away on foot and other destinations easily reached - a great place to stay if you want to stay in town or travel to other parts of Dorset. The hotel is very nicely decorated with tasteful touches throughout. Excellent value for money and we can't wait to go back! Sara and Marcus are really kind, charming hoteliers and have a great team at Bridge House! Thank you.

This is my first visit since the new management took over and I am delighted to say that the high standards have been retained, indeed, on one case increased. Reception/lounge is still a fascinating place with lots of books and reading material about the area. I was up in what had been the attic but what is now a comfortable room with all room comforts and the cushions had conveniently been kept in the wardrobe!. Perhaps the charge for a single was a bit pricey. Breakfast is more than adequate with lots of choice both cooked and Continental. The hotel offers snacks and light meals which I found useful when I had had a full lunch! Drinks can be bought in reception and there is an attractive basement bar open in the evening. A very friendly and helpful management and team.

I visit Bridport on business every September and decided to combine this with a three-day family break. I have stayed at The Bridge House for the previous two years and so booked in early again for 2018. It is clearly under new ownership with the common areas having been given a clean and modern look. All of the new team were unfailingly courteous and helpful. Will definitely be back in September 2019 and wish the new owners luck in this venture.

Lovely and clean with great personal service. Everyone went out of their way for us. We stayed in a lovely quirky room which could sleep four people which was great as we were struggling with somewhere with a family room. They were so accommodating to my daughter as well. Great free parking on site. Breakfast was nice but slightly small. The only negative was it was a little pricey for what it was but perhaps this was because it was bank holiday weekend.

We stayed here recently as a group of friends celebrating a birthday and had a lovely stay. The hotel is very nicely presented, the staff are very friendly, the breakfast was very good and the cellar bar and walled garden were nice touches. Thank you very much to the staff warned us about our car's flat tyre well before we had to leave!
