“Cosy comfort in a beautiful historic Dorset village”
Reviewed December 5, 2012 for a stay in December 2012

The cottage was very comfortable for the two of us. The kitchen is very well equipped, the lounger diner very cosy. Fully central heated although we made full use of the log- burning stove. The bedroom and bathroom have been beautifully refurbished and quality linen, towels and robes provided. The cottage is located in the lovely small, quiet village of Symondsbury just one mile from the bustling market town of Bridport. Lots of great walks from the door or easy access to the coastal path but you do need a car for shopping. There is also a friendly pub in the village to sample the local beer . The housekeeper was really helpful and we loved the welcome basket of local produce.

“A beautiful cottage in a lovely village”

Booked Duck Street Cottage last minute. Only mid-week break available [would have loved longer!] Decided to go to Dorset as only 2.75 hours from North East Surrey.
The Cottage is one of several cottages offered by the owners and perfectly suited a couple. It was opposite The Old Post Office Cottage and therefore ideal if booked together!
We had every comfort: supersized bed with quality bedlinen, towels and bathrobes! A fully equipped kitchen again with quality items. The decor was modern and tasteful. A flat screen TV, woodburner with a good supply of logs.

The property is set within Symondsbury Village which has a great thatched local pub, old church, lovely walks from the front door and only minutes from Bridport providing everything else one could want! AND the sea at West Bay is almost an extension of the town!
Would highly recommend a stay in these cottages and the location which is central to all the other highlights in the area.

“Attractive cottage in a peaceful location”

A quaint cottage in a chocolate box village in Dorset. The perfect location for our week in Dorset.. Bridport just up the road for provisions and resturants, the village pub also did excellent food, and is a fun evening chatting to the locals. On arrival at Duck Street Cottage we were pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful basket of goodies to eat, also milk and butter in the fridge. We lit the wood burner and snuggled up on the sofa in the evenings, even though it was the beginning of July. The rain came down and even that was a novelty, it seems to run down the road into gullies at the side of the road. The lack of street lamps made an evening walk fun, take the torch from the cupboard and spend an evening with the bats outside. The walk to the top of Colmers Hill is worth it, as the views from the top are spectacular. We would recommend Symondsbury Estates to our friends and family, and will certainly be making another visit in the future. Thank you to all the staff for making our annual holiday a time to remember.
