“A beautiful place in a lovely location”

This is a wonderful place. Its setting is tranquil but so full of interest: water, birds, trees, plants .... There's fascinating history all around, too - both real and Game of Thrones imagined. The Loft itself is comfortable and well-appointed, and the breakfast pack Jenny provided (including eggs from her own hens and homemade marmalade) was great. There's a good choice of local restaurants (we particularly enjoyed the Poacher's Pocket) and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Castle Espie site is just next door. And, on our last morning, we watched the Kingfisher! We hope we can come back soon.
