“Second to none”

My wife and I and 10 & 15 year old son and daughter stayed here for a week. We stayed in the Old Dairy which was cleverly designed accommodation and contained every mod-con you could wish for, even fresh eggs, homemade bread and marmalade! You can even say hello to the chickens that layer your eggs! The living area has a log burner that was easy to use. Inside was high standard of finishes, so much so you would never believe that it was converted from a stone dairy building. The high sustainability standards provide an extremely pleasant internal environment providing high quality accommodation above any other self contained holiday home we have stayed in. There is even a covered area with trampoline and BBQ's.
Deborah and Steve are very accommodating and can offer great local knowledge and advise of thing further afield. The local area is stunning, make sure you take a walk up the 'dumpling' to get some fantastic views of Loch Lomond. Further afield Sterling Castle is great, Bracklin Falla at Callender is well worth a visit and the village of Luss is very quaint. Also recommend a cruise trip in Loch Lomond and a walk up Ben Lomond if your feeling energetic. Glasgow is also only 20 minute train journey from the local train station.

Local amenities, butchers, farm shops or supermarkets are all nearby and there is lots of choice for eating out, all of which are good quality with locally sourced produce. It's all good!

Thank you very much for such a lovely review and we are so glad your whole family enjoyed The Old Dairy. It's great too that the children enjoyed their 'low food miles' eggs from the hens. Thank you for coming to stay.
Very best wishes, Deborah

“Excellent self-catering accommodation near Loch Lomond”
Reviewed October 20, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We found this lovely renovated Old Dairy by an Internet search and booked it for a week due to its close proximity to Loch Lomond and the venue of our son's wedding next year. The owners were very helpful, booking and payment was straightforward and a welcome pack was provided on our arrival. The property was impressive with stunning views over the fields beyond and the accommodation was comfortable with everything we required being provided including a wood burning stove with logs supplied - very cosy in the evening! The village of Gartocharn was within walking distance where there was a village shop and restaurant. We also enjoyed several walks locally and in the park in nearby Balloch. There was several golf courses a short drive away and we played on the 9 hole course at Strathendrick and had an enjoyable supper at the Drymen Inn also situated a short drive away.

“Comfortable cottage at a stone's throw from Loch Lomond”
Reviewed October 10, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The cottage is a beautifully converted farm building, with a modern and comfortable interior complete with all mod cons. Especially the bedrooms are a generous size and suited us, a family with 2 young children, perfectly. The lounge is rather small, but that didn't bother us as we had great weather and were outside a lot. The owners live right next door and were on hand throughout our stay to help whenever we had questions. The kids toys, as well as the fresh eggs, bread, butter etc. provided were a real treat. The chickens in the chicken run, as well as the large trampoline on site further enhanced the holiday for our kids.

“Stunning cottage and location”
Reviewed September 21, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Had very high hopes of the Old Dairy cottage at East Cambusmoon from other reviews and the owners website.
Our time there certainly lived up to it!
The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well equipped. We really appreciated the eco friendly aspects of the cottage- all very inspiring. The cottage was very comfortable and the setting is just so relaxing and peaceful.
Normally, we like to try different places for holidays but I think we will make an exception for East Cambusmoon. We'd love to come back with a larger family group and explore a bit more of the area. Three nights were just not long enough!
