My family of six spent a long weekend in the Highlands and stayed at the Granary. It is a beautiful cottage, recently redone by the owners who live next door. We put the four kids in the second room with a double bed and set of bunks. They might have been a bit squished but they didn't spend a lot of time in there awake. Bottom line, the Granary was a perfect base for our Highland holiday. We had everything we needed, to include wifi for my husband.
Now, the location... Invermoriston is a lovely little village just a mile or so from the cottage. We started there one afternoon for a short walk past the waterfalls and finished at the local hotel/restaurant for dinner. It's also very near Fort Augustus where we started our Nessie hunting expedition and, in the opposite direction, Urquhart Castle. Inverness was less than an hour's drive. But you don't need to leave the property for lovely walks as the Granary is on the Glen Moriston Estate. We had a lovely walk along Loch Ness our last morning there. If we'd been longer, or it had been a bit less windy, we would have enjoyed a picnic by the Loch or at the very least evening drinks taking in the view.
We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the Granary!
