We had dinner here on our Coast 500 trip, my partner cycling and me in the campervan. The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. We had drinks in the bar and then were shown upstairs to the restaurant which had splendid views over the Loch. The food was very good indeed, I had the local fish stew which was excellent and my partner had venison pie, which caused a laugh as it came minus the pie crust. Tasty nevertheless. The waitress knocked something off our bill because of it although we were happy to pay anyway. Pudding was also very good. I would recommend this hotel restaurant to anyone and will certainly go again next time we are in the area.

We know Shieldaig from previous visits but it was our first time in the hotel. We had a sea facing room from which we could see the fabulous sea bird life including a family of Sea Eagles!!
The room was fine , however the bathroom left much to be desired- no shower only an over bath hand held one which means for anyone who cannot get into the bath you are only able to have a strip wash- not good enough for the price we paid. However the staff were fantastic , the food was absolutely superb.

Room tip: Sea view rooms are the ones to have at this location.

Arrived looking for sea eagles and then the weather took a distinct turn for the worse.
Popped in for lunch, I had a haggis neeps and tatties stack, Stevie had smoked salmon and fresh bread platter- great! Interesting bar, locals and visitors- felt welcoming. Would go back and we did eventually see sea eagles but coming back on the Torridon Road just before the village.

Was disappointed by this location - condition has not been maintained. Our bathroom had black mold and mildew creeping through the bubbling wall paper border - ick! Only one place to eat in this quaint wee town - some items good, others were just awful! Happy to escape! Place needs updating and cleaning - also very pricey for quality of service and condition of rooms.

How wonderful it was to find a Hotel where one is made to feel so 'Welcome'! Unfortunately we had only a one night stay booked in Tigh an Eilean but during or short stay in the Hotel we recieved a 'genuine' warm welcome from All the Staff!
The location of the Hotel is truly magniticent on the seashore in a century's old fishing village on the North West coast of Ross and Cromarty.
Everything certainly that we would look for in any Hotel was there! Welcoming staff, Nothing too much of a bother, excellent fresh seafood, wonderful service etc.etc. the little touches that make or break a holiday were there aplenty!
Thanks to Cathryn and her Staff! We will be back, that's for sure!

Room tip: Seaview a must!
