We have just returned from a weekend break with Shearings. It was a long and exhausting journey it was worth the trip. The Highland Hotel was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, very clean and the food was good, our room seemed to have been refurbished. The room was very spacious and cosy. The village of Strathpeffer is not very big but is quaint . We went on the trips arranged by Shearings, we had a brilliant driver Roy, who was a friendly and amiable chap, full if knowledge of the area he was absolutely brilliant. The entertainment at the hotel was very good especially Ronnie Ross, what a talented man he is. We liked the 4 free drinks on the Saturday evening. We went on the additional trip to Ullapool on the Sunday, which is worth a visit . We enjoyed the break it was really good value for money.
To sum up, great hotel, friendly staff, great scenery , would recommend this hotel. My only criticism of this hotel is I think that there should be a dress code for the restaurant, and a ban on mobile phones, as applies in other hotels I have stayed in.More
