Came in to an unusually quiet wee hurrie last month... no queue!!! The girl serving was extremely friendly, informative and helpful in regards to helping us pick what we should eat. The food was brilliant, however I couldn't help notice a man (I thought this may have been a fisherman) walking into the main area of the chippie.. he had grubby hands and was wearing clothes which were quite obviously unclean due to the colour and the amount of holes in the jacket. This is the only reason for giving this place four stars, as to me this is extremely unhygienic for such a well known chippie. I expected better.

We are frequent visitors to Troon, and always ensure that we arrive in good time for supper from Wee Hurrie (no, it’s not a person, it’s the name of the inner harbour wall). Fish does not come fresher or more delicious. Service can be a little, well, brusque, at times, but roll with it! Despite the wide range of fish on offer (all cooked to order), the haddock is hard to beat; for a treat, though, try deep-fried langoustine and you’ll never again even think of patronising another Troon chippie.

What a well kept secret the location is amazing whilst waiting saw huge grey seals in the harbour
The produce is straight off the boats coming in from the sea so you could not ask for anything tastier
Price and value for money is very good and have been before and will definitely be back when in the area

Always had a good cod supper here but on last visit this was very overcooked. The batter was very brown and brittle and once it was removed the very small piece of cod was dry. Should have open the package on the premises as it seemed to be in the fryer for longer than usual, but chose to take it to car overlooking the beach. So disappointed - wont be rushing back I'm afraid. By the way, the chips were nothing to write home about either.

My wife suggested we eat on the hoof while we were down at the beach and took me to this wee gem at the harbour side.
A very good selection of food, all the way to a full platter, lobster et al.
Being in a hurry we ordered the salmon fish cakes and they were fabulous.
Liz then took a fancy to some Cullen Skink which she for her Tea" later on, telling me later how scuptuous it was.
Thoroughly recommend this if you are in the area. Will certainly be back with those 2 greedy grandsons of mine.
All 5s for the ratings. Buttons not working!
