We had the pleasure of staying here over Christmas. It truly was a wonderful experience. The room was massive, had everything you could want and even a bottle of wine left as a Xmas gift! The staff were all exceptional and couldn't do mre for you!
The food was fabulous, no complaints what so ever. Delicious, definitely worth going fr the food alone.

Having had a terrible experience before at Loch Green I was determined to start afresh with them... only to be disappointed. There was a bucket full of errors (delivering my main course 15minutes after the rest of the table had theirs for example) but the most prominent one was the fact they lost my bank card. As far as I am aware a bank card is not supposed to be taken out of the owners view but Loch Green don't seem to care about those rules. Having taken it from me at the restaurant to the reception they managed to misplace it. A simple mistake is fine but over the following week they kept telling me they had found it and it had been sent recorded delivery to my house... which was a lie as it never appeared and they couldn't give me the recorded delivery number. I had no apology and as they kept saying it would arrive the next day and it didn't I kept having to go into the bank withdraw money. A real nuisance and it sums up the incapability of their staff. Save yourselves andd avoid at all costs.

Sadly one night only, travelling alone this time. Unplanned visit caused by unexpected change of travelling plans. Driving by and called in on the off chance on a miserable wet January wednesday evening at around 7.00pm.

A delightful and friendly welcome, log fires burning, staff smiling, immaculate and nicely attentive. Lovely ambience to the place. Yes they had a room... hardly surprising given the time of year and at a sensible price bearing in mind this is a very good hotel indeed as I was to discover. The whole places oozes with class and a very stylish Scottish dignity and warmth. No expense has been spared in the decor and furnishings.

My room (27) was very large, sumptuously and tastefully furnished and extremely comfortable. Bathroom equally impressive and stylish.

As most of us know lone diners have about the same status as lone golfers but I was made to feel really welcome. Food was to Masterchef finals standard and impeccably served. Wine list extensive and sensibly priced. My fellow guests were mostly middle aged and upwards couples with plenty of disposable income and one lively and fun international party of six or seven. Breakfast next morning was to the same high and friendly standard. I could not have been better looked after and the final bill was £8.00 less than I had worked out. How often does that happen?

Lochgreen has my unqualified and enthusiastic recommendation. What a pity they don't take dogs and allow me to return with the rest of the family. I remember arranging a booking over the telephone some years ago to what turned out to be an excellent Swiss hotel in the mountains. I enquired of the lady (who turned ou to be the owner) whether they took small well behaved dogs to be met with the reply..."all Swiss hotels take small well behaved dogs Mr.... If only the UK was as enlightened.

Just back from an overnight stay at this lovely hotel. Arrived on a wet and windy January afternoon to be greeted by a roaring log fire in the lounge beside reception. We were allocated a room in the ground floor of the reception and we were really impressed by the size of the room. The dinner was to die for and is probably one of the best we have had. The evening was rounded up sitting by the log fire in the lounge with tea and coffee after our delicious meal. Breakfast the next morning didn't disappoint and certainly set us up for the day. The facilities in the hotel were excellent and the staff went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant and memorable experience.

Room Tip: Researched rates on the internet, but when we telephoned our booking we were quoted a cheaper rate a...
