The quality and range of food on offer was excellent, from good value wholesome choices to signature dishes. The added bonus of a conservatory to eat in which overlooks a large garden with a play area that the children could run about in before, during and after our large family meal and celebration meant that the adults could sit back and relax and enjoy the day whilst the children played and burned off their excess energy.
The weather being fine certainly helped but The Piersland certainly had it all on this family day and the lovely comfortable restaurant and surroundings coupled with an efficient and friendly service made it a day to remember. Success can certainly be measured by the fact that the adults and children are all equally keen to repeat the experience at the next opportunity.

Attended my nephew's wedding yesterday. Lovely marriage service in the conservatory, and staff very helpful, and friendly. Food at the reception was excellent, and staff very attentive. Stayed overnight in a beautiful bedroom, with large bathroom, which had a separate shower cubicle. Hate showers over the bath. Just a small touch, but there were a couple of apples in a bowl, and I had one at 3am, as I was a little peckish !!!, never seen such huge Granny Smiths before. lol. Would definitely return if I was in the area.

Visited Piersland House Hotel with Friends and my Wife, it was our first visit to this Venue although it was one of our Friends favorite restaurants, its a very impressive building and the interior decor is beautiful. Wine list and Menu is very comprehensive and quite reasonably priced. The food is good as I had the Chefs recommendation of Salmon and Haddock which was very good but my wife went for the Crispy Beef which was quite disappointing and not up the standard of our favorite Chinese Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne. Our friends said there food was good as always and the Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc Wine was very good.

We stayed recently to attend cousins wedding and stayed in a cottage. The cottage was very clean well maintained and well furnished. Staff were first class from check in to check out. Food was of a good variety and quality all presented well. Wedding function was a credit to all concerned. Thanks to everyone for a memorable weekend Norman Spence

Visited recently with family and friends. No complaints from anyone food was excellent. I had seafood trio and it was delicious as was the shared seafood platter starter. Everything was very reasonably priced and of a standard well above price. Wine list was excellent too. There’s nothing more annoying when you go to a restaurant and find the cheapest bottle of wine is £20. The Pierslands entry bottle was around £15 which is a price you don’t mind paying. Cocktails were good too, again at around a fiver is good value particularly for a hotel.

Only complaint was variety, or lack of variety of draft beer. Heineken and Fosters lager and I think Belhaven or similar which with the popularity of real ales nowadays is poor. A couple of real ales and a premium lager and the Piersland would have got 5 stars.
