This is not actually in Port Ellen, but rather a few miles away. That said, the food is first rate. The fish pie in particular was memorable, as well as the cakes. And the whisky isn't half bad either. At lunch time it gets really crowded, but stay through mid-afternoon and it quiets down.

Walking up to Ardbeg from Port Ellen for a “wee” bite and some drams. Excellent lunch dishes, nice atmosphere.

Good food! Friendly Staff! Good value for money. Everything absolutely perfect. .... as always! Directly connected to the Ardbeg Shop. Sometimes difficult to get a table.

Being at the end of the 3 distillery walking/bike trail, and the only eatery once you get outside of Port Ellen, they can get pretty busy. There can be a wait, as it seems like every visitor to Islay, and a smattering of locals grabs lunch here. It is most definitely worth the wait. Jackie does keep a very tight ship and you can get in and out without reservations.

We had deserts after our one tour, and later on in the week I'd grabbed lunch after another tour later in the week. I can't wait to come back here during our next visit.

The cafe was very busy an we had to go back at a later time. The woman who dealt with us was brilliant in spite of being under a great deal of pressure - she also served the excellent haggis and nears with a wee dram - she deserves a bonus!
