“Great location for visiting distilleries”

We had a great stay in this property on Islay. It is plenty big enough for 6 adults, with 2 double rooms upstairs and a room with 2 bunk beds downstairs. Easy to walk to Ardbeg, Laphroaig and Lagavulin, and to get taxis to other distilleries. There are 2 restaurants, a Co-op and a pub a few doors down.

“Really nice place.”
Reviewed April 13, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Had a fantastic stay in Islay. This place is perfect. Right off the Port Ellen ferry terminal. Had everything we needed. It was just for 2 of us but had beds for 6. One bathroom upstairs and one downstairs. The kitchen is very well equipped. Nice dining room for 6. A laundry room with a washer and a spin dryer. Comfortable living room. Has a backyard. The place was spotless and well equipped. Street parking is no problem at all. The tv downstairs had pretty poor reception, only a few channels. The upstairs tv had no problems.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay and it is the perfect place to stay when exploring Islay. Susan was really nice to let us store our luggage prior to checking in. Thank you Susan.
Look forward to returning!

“Cute house in great location”
Reviewed March 29, 2018 for a stay in May 2017

We were only 3 people and could have easily fit more friends in this cute and excellently located house in the middle of Port Ellen. Host was great, lots of information to share. Feels like having a real harbour during your Islay visit. Since the two whisky enthusiasts of the trio are "gold coast" fans, we were in the best location possible - walking distance from the closest three distilleries on the east coast north of Port Ellen. Restaurants, shops and the local pub are all a few steps away. The garden is charming, we had breakfast there every morning the weather allowed (we're not spoilt from home, so it was pretty much every day...) Would stay here again and warmly recommend Islay 65 to anyone!

“Swedish Whisky Tour”
Reviewed May 17, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Perfect location. Convenient for pubs and restaurants. Friendly welcome with milk, coffee and biscuits laid out for us. Cannot fault the accommodation in any way. We wanted for nothing (except more time on the island). Peaceful back garden which we would have liked more time to enjoy of a quiet evening sipping a dram. The house is family friendly but was just as good for our group of 4 guys. Very highly recommended. Definitely will come back here again.

I've been in this house more than 5 times and it keeps getting better and better.

The house is very well located. It's clean and wonderfully decorated.

The three rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the garden is charming.

The owner and the housekeeper are so nice and welcoming.

I can't think of anything negative to say about this place. It's simply perfect and it feels like home.
