A very pleasant stay at the White Heather for my wife and I. A genuinely friendly welcome from Gillian and Craig who were both very helpful with advice on where to look around on Skye. They could not have been more helpful.
Our room, Milovaig, had a view of the harbour and castles ruins on the hill beyond. This might seem like a minor point but the furniture in the room was well made and matched. Not lightweight flat pack type! The king size bed was two singles joined together but it did not suffer for that and we both had very comfortable nights sleep. The shower room was of a good size.
Cooked breakfast is pre-booked by filling in a wipe clean card which is hung outside the door before you turn in for the night. The breakfast room benefits from a view of the harbour and across Lochalsh. On a sunny day this is a picture perfect setting.
There are a couple of parking spaces in front of the hotel and a small car park around the back.
The hotel does not have a bar or provide evening meals but there are two or three eating establishments within walking distance. Gillian or Craig will provide the low down on the SP for these.
We chose to stay in Kyleakin for it's proximity to the bridge as we had a long day's travel at the start and the end...A very pleasant stay at the White Heather for my wife and I. We chose to stay in Kyleakin for it's proximity to the bridge as we had a long day's travel at the start and the end of our break and we could not have hoped for better hosts. Thank you Gillian and Craig, see you next year.More
