Great information centre with lots of good information and retail. After receiving a very friendly welcome, the staff, Wendy and Ruiraidh and also the area manager Ranald, were extremely helpful, giving great advice on what to see and do, their retail products and most importantly which coffee shops were still open in November! We would certainly recommend using this information centre.

I would say I'm blushing, but then again I think you got the order absolutely right in highlighting Wendy and Ruairidh before me!

It was lovely to meet you - I'm glad you found your visit helpful, and hope you enjoyed your time on Skye... and just as importantly the Coffee and Cake!!!

Kind regards,

Ranald Gilbert, Area Manager

We had been told to go to the Fairy Glen. And we were told it was tricky to find. The young lady who spoke with us, gave us VERY thorough and meticulous directions. Without the things she told us, we'd never have found it. It was magical and beautiful and we can thank the information center for getting us there.

I'm so pleased you didn't miss the Fairy Glen whilst you were on Skye - I think you're right to use the words magical and beautiful to describe it, as I certainly agree that there's a very special atmosphere there.

I hope it won't be your last visit - either to Skye or indeed to the Information Centre!

Kind regards,

Very friendly staff offer their help (and free maps!) on what to visit during your stay in Skye. Instead of travel guides we used the advise of that lady and we went to see places she recommended to us and we are grateful for that!

I look forward to sharing this review with the team in Portree - there are so many guidebooks and resources available on Skye, but the staff love giving people the personal touch by sharing their own experiences and hidden gems with visitors. Therefore it's always lovely to let them know they were appreciated!

Kind regards,

I booked my bus tickets here for 2 unforgettable bus journeys. Firstly from Portree to Fort William with Citylink. Left Portree at 3.15 and got into Fort William at 18.30. Travelled through magnificent scenery and sunsets over the lochs were out of this world. Also Fort William to Inverness--again fabulous.

So pleased to hear you enjoyed the bus journeys - this is one of my favourite times of year for those journeys as I think the light when the sun is that bit lower in the Skye shows off the hills, mountains and lochs especially well.

I hope you'll enjoy your next visit just as much, and if there's anything we can do to help you plan it or indeed when you arrive then please don't hesitate to get in touch - and indeed thank you for helping others plan their trip by sharing your experiences here on TripAdvisor.

had occasion to visit tourist office.
staff member Jackie Middleton was helpful and informative even booking our tickets for the armadale ferry for later in the week. lovely service and other staff appeared to be delivering the same helpful commitment on a busy day at the office. we had a wonderful time and the sun shone which made our stay even better. skye is the best place in the world in sunshine and to see the most go to this office. by the way the lady in the kyle branch was equally helpful

What a wonderful review to read and whilst I'm not surprised to hear that Jackie (and the rest of the team) were delivering a fantastic service, I'm still delighted to have the opportunity to share your kind words with the team. I'm really pleased to say that you are not the only person to have noticed their fantastic service, as they have this week been recognised in our own staff awards!

Thank you for also reminding me how beautiful Skye is and that i need to get up there on a day off to enjoy it myself!

Kind regards,

Ranald Gilbert, Area Manager
