We chose this place because we wanted a short break on Skye with our dog. It was very suitable and welcoming and as it is located slightly off the main road there is a suitable dog walking route along the old road although it can be very dark at night. Everything was available for us to prepare our own breakfast but we brought some easy cook meals for the evening. There are a number of good places to eat for lunch withing a short car drive distance and we enjoyed the home baking at the Red Roof cafe/gallery. It is number one in Skye at the moment on tripadvisor and it was still busy at the end of October when we visitied. Also we are just about to go for a lunch at the Three Chimneys having booked yesterday. The prices are just about affordable for us on the lunch menu so are looking forward to that. You have to take whatever weather you get on Skye and it is was wet and stormy most of the time we were here so bring wet weather gear for your night time dog walks. However the sun is shining now and we are off to the Three Chimneys. Dog will have to stay in car while we dine in style. All in all a great stay in Taigh Barr at Roskhill Barn thanks to Sue and Richard.
