Nice pub with a limited range of slightly overpriced food. I say limited as, unfortunately, the same menu is offered all day and evening so it was a little boring when we went there for dinner, having previously been for lunch. It was welcome though as there is very little else in the area. My husband was in heaven with over 250 malt whiskies to choose from, and I was driving! Saturday evenings have live music but it is pot luck what style of music you will get: we were told to expect some traditional ceilidh but got a solo man with a very good voice singing a range of styles.

Called in during our holiday with the intentions of having a relaxing evening meal. On perusing the menu we found it to be full of average dishes at extortionate prices. Deciding not to eat, we instead ordered a couple of drinks at the bar - which were also the highest priced drinks we found on the entire island. Asking for the wifi code we were told that all the vouchers had been handed out for the day and we couldn't log in to update our online accounts - totally unacceptable considering the prices being charged here - we will return to Skye in the near future for another stay but will be giving this place a wide berth next time

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for your review. We are proud to offer great value for money here, and know that we are very much middle of the road in terms of pricing on Skye. Wifi is a major problem throughout Skye, a problem that we are working on solving daily.

All the best for future travels.

John

My friends and I stopped there on our drive up to Lewis from Glasgow. It was a nice stop with pool tables and places for sitting/eating. The food was overall a good experience with nice seafood. We got fish and chips, haggis, and the mussel appetizer. The seafood was fresh, well prepared, and large portions. It was a good deal for the price. Additionally, they had a lot of beer and wines.
You order your food at the bar and then give your table number for them to deliver it.

This is a hotel / pub in a remote area which caters for walkers, climbers, caravanners, campers. As it has a monopoly it can survive very well with average food at rather expensive prices. It was very busy when we went (a rainy Saturday night in mid August) with people who had obviously been walking or climbing. It also serves a large caravan and campsite across the road. We went from the site where we had parked our motorhome as we had had a long drive that day and just wanted a meal quickly. The food was quite acceptable, as were the drinks, but it was expensive for what it was. We realise we were paying for the convenience so were happy to pay but would not choose to go there again. Even though it was very busy the atmosphere was friendly. There was live music scheduled for later but we were too tired so didn't stay for that.

Stayed one night and loved it.

Beware: dont wait to find a room on skye, on our drive around not one vacancy sign was seen. Whole island sold out and this was sept.

Front desk staff were awesome and made arrangements for my elderly father and showed up early to check us out

This hotel is older. But perfect location for Skye. It is right in the center. 15 min to talisker and fairy pools, 10 min to portree, 1 hr to ferry and kyle.

Rooms:old country inn. Nice beds, rooms smaller, no lifts. Charming hotel but dont expect a 5 star room. Clean, simple rooms, but great price.
Wifi- only in small room on main floor
Lounge: literally 100 whiskies- awesome
Food was incredible-we weregoing to eat at 3 chimneys but ate here instead and sooooo glad we did

All in all if you prepare yourself for a country inn you will love it here. Staff was awesome and cozy place. If you want luxury linens and beds and 5 star room then pay 3 times more to do it. I for one will be back in the future and will drive past the hoity toity expensive places to get the true feeling ofbeing on the isle of skye
