A perfect spot

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 5, 2024via mobile
This definitely the best B&B we experienced so far on our travels through Scotland. Diane and John the perfect hosts. Although Diane no longer offer the cooked breakfast every evening there is a prepared take-away which is like a surprise goodie bag in the mornings. There’s a large, comfortable lounge room just for guests as well as seperate fully equipped kitchen across the hallway for guests use. Cereals, milk, a large variety of teas and coffee/hot chocolate can be found. The bedroom is not large but comfortable with a lovely bathroom / shower.
It really lacks nothing and just ticks all the boxes that need ticking.

Where do I begin? Every single thing was perfect. We spent three nights here on the Isle of Skye and loved this location. Each morning's breakfast was filling and delicious; our host was wonderful and made us feel welcome. She encouraged us to use the common area in the evening, which we did. There is a nice little grocery store down the street, and we were able to get enough for a charcuterie dinner. The bed was very comfortable, and the rooms were spotless and perfectly appointed. My husband is 6'3, so the shower was a little tight for him. I'm 5'9, and it was fine. Everywhere you look, it's just beautiful. We loved the Isle of Skye so much, we'll be back and we will most certainly stay here!

What a gread place with lovely owners. It is such a lovely place on the Island… and not in the middle of a village ;-) We stayed there for 2 days and from there you can visit the whole Island with a car. Especially the great breakfast should be mentioned.

Been going to Staffin for 30 years

Last 3 visits Laurie and I always book An Cnoc, if possible, and have been known to change our travel dates to be accommodated here!

We love fly fishing the local burns and small rivers for wild brown trout and have never been disappointed !

Room tip: Great views back and front

An Cnoc is a lovely place to stay when spending time on Skye. Our room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Dianne is a very welcoming and accommodating hostess. The breakfast menu provided many options; in particular, the full Scottish cooked breakfast was delicious and I personally would really recommend the porridge served with cream and honey. The pretty breakfast room is comfortable and relaxing too. Every precaution and care has been taken in difficult COVID times to be safe but still welcoming. We would highly recommend An Cnoc. It completely deserves 5 stars.

Room tip: Lovely peaceful location. Parking available.

Arrived at the cottage to a welcome note on the door from Diane (our host) telling us which room we were in and she would come meet us when we got settled. Beautifully done cottage, which we found out had been in the family for some years and Diane & John had renovated and added to over the years to a fantastically high standard. The cottage itself is in the north of the island and in a great location for the majority of things you would want to visit.
Our room on the first floor was stunning and the bed was so comfy. We were made to feel extremely welcome and even had the use of the small fridge in the breakfast room. Great amount of choice for breakfast, the food was lovely and all cooked to order by Diane who is absolutely lovely and chatted away with us each morning.
The views out of the window are amazing, even on the misty days.
Would 100% recommend this lovely guest house.
Remember, take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints and kill only time. Skye is gorgeous, let’s keep it that way.

Room tip: Check low tide if you’re going looking for the dinosaur footprints. We missed them!
