We loved this place and plan to return. Having so much space helped to make the holiday so much more enjoyable. The open fire a real bonus. Amazing beaches only a short walk away and the amazing Sandwood bay is nearby. Looking forward to being back.
"What? Why?" That was the reaction from our friends in Glasgow and Stirling when they learned about us renting the house in Sheigra. "You come from Copenhagen and go to the most isolated part of Scotland as far away as you can get?"
Well, we didn't regret it for one moment. We loved the fact that the house literally is at the end of the road. You can't go any further unless you walk to Sandwood Bay and Cape Wrath. The location is wonderful. You just go out the door and you have a lot of possibilities. Go up the foot path and in 20-30 minutes you are on top of a hill with the most spectacular views of the area - mountains, the sea and, of course, the sheep. You can go to the lovely Sheigra beach in 15 minutes. If you want a bigger beach, go to Polin beach - wide with white sand and hardly any people.
The house itself is very nice - nice rooms and good beds. The kitchen is very well equipped indeed. Nice views from the conservatory where we spent most of the time indoor.
Would we go back? Certainly! And our friends from down south? Yes, after a visit to the house they said they would too.
