sally was very nice looked after our needs.very clean cottage well located for sightseeing. in the glens or the coast.would like to revist at some point again.
We visited for a short stay in typical mid January weather - sleet and snow, but received a warm welcome from Sally. The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Sally's welcome pack and home baked scones and tray bakes were very much appreciated. Glamis Castle is nearby and the cottage is well placed for exploring the Angus Glens, Dundee, Perth and the Angus coast.
Located in a lovely location the cottage is perfect for exploring the beautiful countryside and many attractions of Angus. Within half an hour's drive you can be walking on a white sandy beach, exploring the foothills of the Cairngorms National Park or visiting Dundee with its many cultural sites (the V&A is due to open its first museum outside London in Dundee later this year!) not to mention its great position on the river Tay. A trip up the 'Law' (the hill which overlooks the city & can be reached by car) is a must for stunning views up and down the river estuary towards Perth and St Andrews which are also easily accessible from the cottage.
The cottage and its facilities are excellent as mentioned in previous reviews. This was our second visit and can confirm that nothing had changed. We once more received a very warm welcome from Sally and Simon who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. I should also mention that the cottage is also perfect for those with mobility issues (we had an elderly relative visit). This is definitely one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended!
Simply an outstanding place to stay, truly a home from home. From the moment you arrive, to the time you leave you feel so welcome. I was in between a home move and they made it so much easier. The scones, bread & pancakes were scoffed in ultra quick fashion. Thank you Sally and Simon, I really appreciated it.
This cottage was really easy to find, close to our first pit stop at Glamis and then easy access to attractions in Kirriemuir, Brechin, Edzell, Forfar and the Glens. The kitchen/living room bit is small but so cosy, bright, tidy, well kept, appointed and presented and opens into a fenced garden so fine for little ones to spill out into. Bedrooms are spacious, airy and comfortable with lovely views over the garden and fields. The house was a pleasure to wake up in and get back to in the evenings. Though near a road it wasn't noisy. Attractions in Angus in general are less crowded than the Central Belt - no midgies like up West and we found some lovely little gems to visit like the Caledonian Railway, the Rocks of Solitude, Restenneth Priory and Barry Mill. I didn't want to leave! Sally made us feel very welcome and is a grand baker- you won't regret choosing her as your host.
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Welcome package on arrival, homemade bread, shortbread and pancakes and more. Warm welcome from the owner who couldn't do more to make our stay even more amazing. Thank you so much. We will be back to visit again for sure xx
Garden Cottage was exactly suited to our needs for a weekend visit to the area.
It was very well equipped and beautifully presented with hospitality extras.
We enjoyed our stay and we will use the accommodation again.
