“Just like coming home”
Reviewed November 5, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Arriving at the cottage was like coming home .As well as being very well appointed and finished the whole place was spotless and welcoming . Anna and family made us so welcome we did not want to leave . Not only do I want to go back but I would recommend that people take the time and stay a few days ......the local area is stunning... the people fantastic and the cottage and Anna made the stay amazing ...thankyou so much for making our time in Taynuilt so special

“Great short break, with warm welcome and superb comfort - excellent value”
Reviewed September 12, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The Cottage is a modern, clean and extremely comfortable 2 bedroom home extension that is completely self contained, very well equipped and very peaceful. Access is good, though a car is recommended as it would be a bit of an uphill walk from the train station with luggage!

The location in a residential area of Taynuilt is delightful, very quiet, with some good views of Ben Cruachan from the bedrooms and the historic Bonawe Blast Furnace and the shores of Loch Etieve only a short walk away. The village has everything you need, Stores, Post Office, Butcher and the Taynuilt Hotel that houses the Village Bar and an excellent restaurant (original, great tasting, locally sourced food with a nice atmostphere and very good value. Good selection of Scottish artisan Ales and Whiskys too.)

The Cottage itself is very high quality self catering accomodation with free Wifi, TV/Freeesat/DVD and a good quality CD/Radio, though radio reception locally is a bit hit and miss. The kitchen is the best equipped of any self catering apartment I have ever come across. It even has a diswasher and all basics like detergent, soap, teatowels, shampoo etc. are provided, with 2 bathrooms, one ensuite. The Breakfast pack included has enough to keep you going for a few days and enough tea and coffee for at least a week - Anna, the owner, is happy to accomodate different tastes or requirements and is happy to discuss these by phone or email.

The welcome was very warm and appreciated after the long drive and the owners are just next door if there are any problems, but you'd never know they were there and the Cottage is very private and cosy.

Oban is just 12 miles away and an easy drive - The Seafood Shack (the Green Shack by the ferry terminal on the Quay) is highly recommended if you like great tasting ultra fresh seafood served with a minimum of fuss (It's caught. It's cooked, You eat it.) - you just share a communal bench and tuck in to stuff that would easily cost 3 times the price in a restaurant, but there are loads of places to eat and Oban is a lovely town, basically grown up around the distillery. Surrounding area has masses to see, views to enjoy, trips to make - Kilmartin is a facinating slice of pre-historic landscape a very windy 30 miles south of Oban, with some excellent walks and great Cafe at the Museum. Boat trips, distillery tours (obviously). The Hollow Mountain tour (Cruachan Storage Power Station - built inside the solid granite of Ben Cruachan on the shores of Loch Awe) is facinating and the setting extraordinarily pretty - is just up the road.

It was a very enjoyable experience and The Cottage is an excellent base from which to explore the West Highlands and Isles if you are able to stay for longer than a few days.

“Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed July 9, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We have visited this apartment three times now, and looking forward to the next. Ideally located for many lovely walks around the village and loch. The apartment is modern, comfortable with good kitchen facilities. We especially enjoyed the secluded back garden. I felt the owners went that "extra mile" giving us lots of advice regarding things to do within the area etc. Can't wait for our next visit.
