Had lunch here, originally chose this venue as it was dog friendly, we were going to eat in the garden area but the weather had turned cooler we were welcomed to the bar area with the dogs. Food was served promptly and staff were all friendly. Tasty pub food the pudding was particularly good would recommend it worth a visit

Thank you so much for your lovely review, although it's a shame the weather turned and you couldn't get to sit in our lovely garden.
We love our dogs at the Village Inn,and they are very welcome in our bar area.
We also have dog friendly rooms.
Hope to see you again in the future.
Kind Regards

Table was booked in advance and within ten minutes we were shown to our table and
then we were which i can only describe as abandoned , dining room was about 3/4 full
and after scanning the room ( helps pass on the time ) we could see that the majority
of tables were eating or had eaten . After twenty minutes we finally flagged down a waitress to take the order , 45 mins later the four meals arrive nothing special but edible and hot . We finished our meal and than sat around with empty plates for about half an hour before one of us had to go and ask for the desert menu which was
a pointless exercise because nobody wanted to come and take our order so after
waiting 15mins ,we left the table and got the bill and paid up before the night had totally disappeared . Definitely not be back ,saw the chip shop on the way back to the hotel this would have been the better option combined with a nice walk around the loch

Thank you for taking the time to post a review.
I must sincerely apologise for the poor standard of service you received on your recent visit to the Village Inn.This is certainly not the norm as we always strive to produce the highest standard of customer care, but we appear to have failed on this occasion.
I do hope you will return again in the future.
Kind Regards

Went for Sunday dinner & was not happy with food or service,we were seated & told drink orders would be taken in a minute,20 minutes later the waitress took our order & we ordered our meal also as we were left so long all four of us had decided what we wanted. All four meals were a joke, the staff did not keep an eye on us & we had to flag them down by shouting & waving for desert & the bill, which also seemed to annoy the ginger haired waitress as she gave me some attitude!!Toilets were DISGUSTING & food was very expensive,BAD EXPERIENCE for us all.

Food was well presented, served hot and within good time. We visited on Friday 27 May so being a bank holiday weekend we expected a wait, but service was fast.
The staff were polite and friendly. The food was good and they have a good selection of ales (4 I think).
Price wise not cheap, but about mid range, but I would rather pay more for quality and the steak pie was full of lean steak.

we have just returned from a 2nd visit to the village inn, both of which can only be described as disappointing. Food was mediocre at best and extremely overpriced- wetherspoons quality at gastro pub prices. My main issue however lies with the service, or lack of. Service is disorganised, slow and chaotic. Food arrived before drinks- which consisted of a complicated diet coke and soda water and we waited approx 25mins before our plates were cleared, despite the restaurant being near empty. Having said that, when you are finally attended too (usually after prompting), staff are pleasant. The village inn could be so much more, but instead rely on the lack of choices in the area.
