We sat in the window overlooking the lake eating very good fish and chips for lunch. We were so mesmerised by the ferry going backwards and forwards to Inchmahome that we walked round to it after lunch. A very friendly restaurant with quick service. We always enjoy our visits here.

It was lovely to sit in the restaurant looking out on the Lake during the heatwave. The most exciting thing was watching an untethered boat drift off on its own and then be rescued some time later! The food was excellent - lamb with a lovely combination of flavours and a light lemon tart with cooling raspberry sorbet.

We have been to this restaurant every year for 5 consecutive years. Not only because of the view, but because the chef was always able to make interesting tasting combinations, which you don't see a lot in Scotland. We feel the quality is getting less. We had very nice scallops, but the ingredients with bacon and the sauce were too heavy. As a main we had salmon, which was too well done and the celery with mustard sauce was too fatty and too heavy. After two courses you had the feeling having had five. The celery was also much too sour. Our chenin blanc couldn't match it. That's why we say out of balance. Hopefully next year the touch of the Chef is back again. This quality hotel can certainly do better.

Lovely meal in the bar. Great views over the lake. I had lamb, husband had venison burger and daughter had sausages all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Would absolutely recommend

Considering the price of the meal I would have expected better .
I had the red lentil soup which was not great in fact it may have been a few days old and topped up and had a very slight scorched taste to it.
Traditional sunday roast with all the trimmings , no roast potato but what I think might have been an effort of pomme dauphinoise one dessert spoonful, two nice thick slices of roast beef if you like it red in the middle , nice cabbage hidden under the beef , two insipid sprigs of broccoli , two small batons of tired looking carrot , a very nice yorkshire pudding but just a teaspoon of gravy for the whole lot.
This place used to have the involvement of a local celebrity chef , he can't have anything to do with it now.
