Living not far from this stunning tearoom my husband took me out for a "surprise" spot of lunch, after a beautiful scenic drive we arrived at this beautiful and very friendly cafe most welcoming staff quickly served by staff fresh food served all at very reasonable prices, lovely home made leek and potato soup followed by smoked salmon and oatcakes my hubby also had the soup but had the half ciabatta we both sucumbed to the cake and finished off with coffee and Lemon Tea, delicious

It is not a drive for the faint hearted from Aberfoyle to Stronachlachar but a beautiful run along three lochs. Once you arrive at the pier cafe you are in for a treat with the friendly staff and the lovely cakes they bake. Go into the conservatory for the view, and if you have a dog they are dog friendly as well.
I would recommend the scones, the best I have ever eaten and of course jam and cream.

The Pier Café, The Pier Tea Room and now The Pier Café - Bistro - Bar. All one and the same place even if Tripadvisor hasn't caught on yet despite being told more than once of the duplication.

The previous owners who always gave a warm welcome and served very good food have left and the new owners are firmly in place with ambitious plans to extend the range of facilities beyond serving as a bistro. See their website for details.

I have always visited at lunch and with the new owners in place have again been assured of a welcome, good food and friendly efficient service. If I have any criticisms, they would centre on the over reliance of burgers to fill the menu and skittery French Fries listed as chips. Apart from these points, I have no other adverse criticism and wish them luck for the future.

We have visited the tea room on a number of occasions however this was the first time since the change of ownership in March. Whilst the menu hadn't changed too much the overall quality and presentation of the food was simply nowhere near as good as on previous occasions.
Sadly we're unlikely to return in the future.
