Went on a coach trip for 5 days. Excellent hotel with brilliant rooms and attentive staff. We had a superior double room, though it had no view over Loch Lomond the room and ensuite were refurbished and excellent. The food was great, several choices for each course including vegetarian. Each night's menu was different to any other night. The staff were very attentive, quick and very helpful. Portions were good but if you wanted more just ask. Drinks were readily available, ordering at your table. The bar was well staffed with 2 or 3 serving. The manager even made my wife hot toddies when she had a cold/flu. The trips out were superb, visited Glasgow, the transport museum was worth spending a full day, though we only had 90 minutes. We also went to Inverrary, pity the castle was closed but we still enjoyed the location.

This was our fourth visit and had a good break. All staff really helpful and friendly also polite. Our room was a standard one ok but bit small wardrobe right next to the bed shower room cramped. The food was good but not as great as our last visits. Bacon very pink sausage not good scrambled eggs like bricks. Evening meal average on all three nights the special main course came with rice. All in all it was good value for what we paid but not as nice as on previous breaks.

This hotel caters largely for coach parties and I felt from the moment we entered that we were 'just more punters'. No welcome. Strict instructions on where smoking is permitted (neither of us have ever smoked) then a printed sheet telling us about the penalties for smoking in the wrong place (we still don't smoke!). In case we'd lost that sheet en route to our room there was another one waiting for us there. We were allocated a table number 'to be used by us at all times during our stay', but at breakfast we were moved from our table because it 'wasn't available'. Then we got disturbed several times by the people whose table we had now been allocated then by a poor waiter with a clipboard trying to sort it out. (We weren't the only ones without a table) and this was in a half empty dining room! When we checked out no-one asked if we'd enjoyed our stay nor indeed thanked us for staying. This hotel just wasn't for me.

Stayed here for 4 night and room was OK however the bathroom was tiny and cold most of the time. . Also there was a blue light on the wall which controlled the heater in the bathroom and kept me awake at night. Food was OK nothing special some very bland, breakfast was good. Would stay again as the little things can be corrected. And the hotel right on the Lock Lomand fantastic view.
