If you like (or love) Elvis, it's definitely worth the money. Even if you DON'T love him (gasp!), there is so much history involved! The number of records, his contribution to music, the awards, and contributions to charities are astounding! We did the middle priced tour ($36) and was worth every penny! There seem like too many gift shops, but you can quickly skip those. I'm going back next year and do the V.I.P. tour! I plan to have 8 hrs. for that because the 5 hours we spent wasn't enough to read all the information! If you do the 10:00 (first tour of the day), get there by 9:15 because the lines are long to get the shuttle for across the street's tours. Very friendly guides. Audio headphones supplied so much information!! WONDERFUL place!

I'm not a big Elvis fan - but still this is a place you just have to visite when you're in Memphis. The main house is smaller than I expected, and this was a pleasant surprise as it seemed like a house a normal person could live in (though the jungle room is a bit excentric). The tour through the house is very crowded and you walk in a constant queue - but I guess that is something which can't be helped. The trophy room and the racketball building was great and showed you a lot of his carreer. Back at the visitor center we saw the car collection (great fun) and his private jets (impressive). We also saw the "icon" exhibition and the film which tells you how the "Elvis on tour"-movie was made. These exhibitions were both very good, and should not be missed.
There are a lot of different stores selling souvernirs - and several places to eat. I had a peanutbutter/banana toast (supposed to be Elvis' favorite) and it tasted surprisingly good.
Be sure to book your tickets on the internet in advance - saves you the time to stand in queue - and pick an early slot if you can.
