Description: At Gus's we're all about the food! Gus's restaurants are low-key with a southern flare where you will hear soulful classics emitting from the jukebox. Many people call Gus's a "blues-infused southern eatery." At Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken we focus on the chicken! We begin by using quality chicken which is treated to our special preparation techniques before being marinated in our proprietary batter. Once it's properly fried to a crisp golden-brown, we serve it up with a plate full of southern inspired sides and a cold beer or sweet tea. The result? Customers line up at our door before we're even open!

So today was first day in Memphis. Noticed Gus’s was a 10 min walk. Well worth the walk. Chicken was fried well and tasted good Mac n Cheese was good also. The star though was the chocolate chess pie with vanilla ice cream. That was the winner.

OK, SO NOTORIETY is part of the draw for the restaurant, but trust me you will not be disappointed. The service is great with servers happy to tell you the history of the place. The chicken is like none other I have tasted. For me it was perfect, but for some the heavier spiced recipe might be to much. The building is a landmark.

The 40oz domestic is a great value. Sides were hearty, but plain. Chicken strips not my style, not enough breading, crunchy skin. Ice cream perfect, but chess pie not as sweet as I like. Great price, definitely worth the hubbub.

In 2015 I visited the United States with 3 friends, we had lunch at Gus's WFFC on Front St before we visited Gracelands in Memphis.
I am still talking about my visit to Gracelands but I talk as much if not more about the great fried chicken I had at Gus's WFFC on Front St Memphis, TN
It was and still is the very best Fried Chicken that I have ever had. My friends loved it too.
The service was great and every table had patrons at it enjoying their lunch.
One day I will be back for more!
Thank You Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken for tjhe long lasting affect of having eaten your delicious product.
