Review of Pen-y-Bont Farm

Pen-y-Bont Farm
Ranked #7 of 84 Restaurants in Mold
Price range: US$5 - US$16
Cuisines: Indian, Pub, Grill, Welsh
Description: Originally a row of 17th century single storey cottages that were subsequently converted to a two storey farmhouse in the early 19th century, The Pen Y Bont Farm is one of Marston's newer rotisserie pub restaurants. While refurbishing and extending this charming grade II listed building, Marston's have created a stunning environment in which you can enjoy both special and everyday occasions. Situated alongside the river Alyn and on the junction of the A494 and A541, we're well within walking distance of the busy market town. Whether you are looking for a relaxing place to dine or just a local pub for a great pint of real ale, then this is the place for you. We cater for everyone, locals, tourists, families and business people will all be welcomed with warmth and outstanding service. Open from lunchtime through to late evening we offer a mouth-watering and varied menu... succulent burgers, juicy steaks and beer battered fish and chips. The main attraction is our rotisserie chicken: All of our rotisserie chicken is Red Tractor farm assured, freshly prepared and seasoned in-house, then slow cooked to tender perfection in our rotisserie oven before your eyes. Our bar boasts a superb variety of beers, guest ales, ciders and wines, plus of course a delicious range of soft drinks to explore. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Visited here for the first time and was impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the place, bit of a long wait between ordering drinks and then having to ask for them and being able to order food but when it arrived we had no complaints at all, nicely cooked and well presented. Only real gripe is that there wasn't enough staff to cope and they where all running round trying to please everyone, on the whole very enjoyable

I don't know if I like this place or not.. Can't put my finger on what I don't like as the deco is lovely but I've visited a few times now and I feel it lacks atmosphere (maybe it's just me) .. food is OK and served quick enough and yes I would try it again if meeting with friends and having a few drink but probably wouldn't take my family again x

Thank Buddens

The staff are great , knowledgable and the food's always delicious , but without exception , so far , there's always too long a wait for it . I would never attempt a lunch hour visit , ever ! Visited with family without booking on a fairly busy night around 6.30pm and lovely staff rustled us up a table , but we sat there for over 15 mins until someone came to take our order , apparently because there were serviettes and knives and forks already on the table staff thought we had been served , so , tip of the day , if you're seated and there is cutlery on the table , hide it ! We then waited 50 minutes for our meal to appear . As ever all meals were hot and delicious , but waiting over an hour was unacceptable . A previous visit was a much quieter evening , but again people complaining why they were waiting such a long time and then meals going to the wrong tables and a meal missed on a group table , but when food did arrive it was piping hot and delicious and brought out by apologetic staff . So if you've loads of time and aren't starving when you arrive it's definitely worth a visit .

Went to Pen-y-Bont farm, food was extremely tasty! Kay was my server who was very polite, overall had a great day. A very family friendly restaurant, would recommend and I myself will be visiting again very soon. However, it was a challenge to get there as there is road works but after we did we had a lovely and enjoyable day.
