“A fantastic break in gorgeous Ardro.”
Reviewed October 15, 2018 for a stay in October 2018

What a brilliant place for our family birthday gathering. 8 of us in 4 bedrooms. Loads of rooms to sit together or separately for a quiet moment - with stunning views you never get tired of.
We only cooked breakfast, and the kitchen was perfect for 2 of us to cook with the others sitting around chatting. We then ate in the large dining room with us all sitting around the table with the morning sun shining through the window.

A great location just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. It was great watching storms through the window then next morning having a breakfast cuppa in the sun on the front patio sun-trap, looking straight across the bay towards the coast between Harlech and Shell Island. We even saw a couple of dolphins!

And great recommendations from the owners Mark and Jane to eat at The Poachers, Mei's and Dylan's, and of course the local chippy just 5 mins walk past the castle.

We were sorry to leave but will definitely be back!

“The home that keeps giving”
Reviewed September 1, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

Situated in the unspoiled seaside town of Criccieth, in the shadows of its famous castle, Ardro provides a fully equipped home from home. Whatever your style of holiday Ardro is the perfect base for them. Eating out is no problem, with many good venues within walking distance. There is easy access to all that North Wales has to offer for those days you feel the need to get out and about or you can stay in with a book and take in the views from the window, with the occasional dolphin passing by.

This was our 3rd visit and it doesn't disappoint with familiarity. It has the feel of a well loved and well cared for family home, with many quirky homely touches and the welcome hamper was very much appreciated. Hope to be back for a 4th visit.

“An oustanding holiday experience with thought given to every aspect of comfort.”
Reviewed August 27, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

This was a return visit to a house and location on which we could depend. The owners present a lovingly cared for family home which is thoughtfully and fully equipped. Comfort and cleanliness go hand in hand. The accommodation is spacious and catered easily for what, in our case, was four generations with each bedroom having its own access to facilities. The courtyard was a sunny spot to enjoy a BBQ.
The area has many attractions whatever the weather: a warm welcome awaits! We recommend Dylans on the front and "42" in the town as well as a wonderful Malay takeaway. A day out for the children? Greenwood Forest Park is a must.

“Exceptional family home with beautiful views.”
Reviewed August 26, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

The location was brilliant for all members of the extended family party (ages 4 - 91) Well furnished, clean home from home, plenty of space. Beautiful views especially from top bedroom and lounge. Perfect for watching the dolphins in the bay. Lovely seating area at the front with views of the bay and castle. A mediteranean feel court yard at back with seating, table and barbeque.
Close proximity to the beach and centre of Criccieth where Cadwallerders ice cream parlour is a must. Also Mei's Fusion do excellent take away if you want to stay in.
The owners Jane & Mark are very helpful with suggestions and a welcome pack of goodies. A truly exceptional place to relax and unwind. Thank you.

“Family friendly beach holiday”
Reviewed August 14, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

We stayed in May for a week. Despite having the best summer weather wise in years our week was pretty mixed.
Nevertheless the house was immaculate and huge. This was important as I was staying with my mother, mother in law, husband and two young children. The house had ample bathrooms (3) and enough space I was able to lose myself to quietly read on more than one occasion.
My husband had no problem losing himself fishing from the beach and we visited a local farm with the kids as well as sampling the local chippy (ace) and Chinese, also ace.
The house was directly opposite the beach and so we woke to the most magnificent views of the sea and watched the dolphins twice from the house.
I was so chilled from my holiday it took me a couple of weeks once back at home to get back into the normal routine.
If it’s a throbbing nightlife you’re after you’ll be disappointed, but peace and tranquility with ice cream and chips? Criccieth is the place.

“The best we have ever stayed at for the New Year”

Ardro is a beautiful house with excellent facilities in a wonderful location. Although our stay was over the New Year and the weather was less than kind we still enjoyed the facilities in this well appointed property. Jane was excellent in all communications and is rightly very proud of her holiday home. As with many things pictures sometime don’t do justice but in this case the pictures were spot on and more. Criccieth is a lovely small village which although a few of the coffee shops and pubs and even in the winter their are sufficient places to visit. It is also a great base to explore the North Wales Peninsula. Highly recommended and I imagine even better in the summer months.
