The venue is quite attractive and very clean. Staff are typical of locals in that they are very polite and accommodating.

The menu offers a reasonably broad range of options to cater for all and well priced. The pizza, chips and pasta were a treat after walking around the picturesque village.

If visiting the village I would most certainly recommend for lunch and/or dinner.

This hotel is set in an imposing old castle and their Brasserie is in a modern conservatory type room with huge double height windows, overlooking a very well kept and colourful garden.
We were greeted and seemed in the lobby and offered a drink plus the menu to look over prior to our table being ready. The young man (Sean, I think) who took our order was attentive, polite and was a delight to deal with.
That was the end of the good service. Once we were seated there was a short wait before our 2 roast dinners were presented to us. We were't asked if we wanted any sauces etc. and my wife had to walk over the the control area to ask for some mint sauce. 3 or 4 minutes after starting to eat the food a young waitress came over and asked if we wanted any bread rolls, which we declined.
No one came over to check if everything was to our liking. In the middle of the table was a small piece of slate with a metal domed dish. We lifted the dome to discover a very well melted pool of butter, which had been there too long and suffered from the heat through the large windows. No one cleared this up at any stage until the entire table was cleared after our excellent sweets.
When it came to paying the bill I was disappointed to discover that we had been over-charged. This was rectified at the control area with just the minimum of regret and a reluctant apology.
Overall, the food was really good and well worth the £19:95 for 2 courses (with the bonus of free entry to the Portmeirion Village). The ambiance, the fixtures & fittings plus the wonderful old castle were terrific. Why could the staff not match these top quality areas with some well trained, disciplined customer service. Such a shame.

Visited after a long journey and had a fabulous meal with attentive staff who were kind and curtious and had a good sense of humour with the children...children's menu and options for those with food in tolerances..and beautiful setting...clean and peaceful...and thoroughly enjoyable flavoursome meal enjoyed by adult and child alike...definitely recommend. Also received a free entry to port Merrion as had two courses...bonus...

We were fortunate to be invited here for dinner one Saturday evening recently. It was a surprise treat & what a treat it turned out to be. The whole experience was wonderful, from breathtaking scenery to excellent food & service. Again all locally sourced ingredients which is so good to see & cooked to perfection.

Went for an early tea here with our young children. It was reasonably quiet as it was the start of evening serving. Lovely setting and clean establishment, with friendly staff. The majority of the meal was very good, though we expected it to be as it wasn't a cheap meal. However, I ordered ribeye and it was tough and grey. I don't like to complain but mentioned it to one of the staff when they removed our plates. No real acknowledgement or apology was made. He just repeated what I said about the steak. We decided not to stay for desert. A shame really.
