We have stopped many times at Portmeirion in quite a few of their self catering cottages, this time we stopped at the Toll House. Perhaps this is our favourite cottage yet, it is full of character and the views across the estuary are unbelievably beautiful. A truly enchanting stay in magical surroundings, can’t wait to return in June when we stop in Battery.

We stayed at White Horses self-catering cottage for 4 nights during September - very fortuitous to have booked in November the previous year ! The cottage lived up to our expectations : excellent standard of accommodation with a spacious living room / kitchen diner, a very efficient log burning stove, 2 comfy double ensuite bedrooms, a fantastic location with stunning estuary views and a private outdoor terrace.

We had dinner on 2 nights in the main hotel restaurant and one lunch in the Castell on our first day. The standard of the food is as high as ever and we had wonderful dining experiences with friendly efficient service on each occasion.

This was the first time we have stayed in one of the self-catering cottages (we have stayed several times in the hotel suites) and were very impressed by the standard. Given that the hotel had only re-opened some weeks before and indeed some of the village shops were still closed, it was still a magical experience to stay in the village.
As always, the staff are unfailingly polite and helpful in spite of the extra demands placed upon them at this current time and we look forward to our next stay.

We stayed for 3 nights in the village for my wife’s birthday. We had the Bridge house room which was spacious warm and a fabulous view over the estuary. We ate at the castle on 2 nights and the hotel on one, they are both fantastic although the main hotel restaurant was lacking in warmth and character. We thoroughly enjoyed everything that was put in front of us and it’s some of the best food we’ve ever tasted. The dining was a highlight for me. It was fun to rediscover the village again and to stay after hours was a real treat. I will definitely be back again.

We were greeted at the checkpoint by lovely, happy and courteous staff, given our directions to Telford Tower and parked up. We were a bit early and covid was delaying housekeeping so we explored a bit of the village and later checked in. Oh my!!! Telford Tower did not disappoint in any way! Sumptuous beds, adequately equipped kitchen area and toilets on all three levels with a bathroom on the middle floor to kick everyone else into touch!!! All spotless! Creative lighting on staircase and views which made you just want to sit by a window. Only let down was the back door, when locked took ages to open as the lock was very sticky. Otherwise, combined with superb dining at both the castle and the hotel (hotel up one notch from the castle) and a breakfast they should be extremely proud of themselves for choice and taste, this was as near perfect a long weekend as ever there has been. "Unicorn" is booked for the New Year, pending our covid lockdown - fingers crossed we can be there .

A one night stay, in one of the village's cottages (Bridge House). We arrived in the week of the new Welsh 'fire break' lockdown.
From the moment we entered the complex via a managed gate house and given instructions to check in at the Hotel reception, the start of our amazing and unforgettable stay, where all members of the staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble, all was in place in dealing with the current virus issues, the site itself was spotlessly clean and looked picturesque as ever, We were able to roam around the site at our leisure, Eaving Meal at the Castell Deudraeth was first class ( arrived by hotel minibus and pick up thereafter )
Summary, a great picturesque location, with well attentive staff.
A lovely room in the middle of the village making it a very memorable visit.
